It's actually more about symmetry of the whole face than just the eyes. Almost everyone reacts to something at first with a VERY quick micro expression.

I tend to watch eyes when I'm just watching people.
I have extremely poor hearing so I watch the persons mouth when we have conversations.
I find I have to check the eyes when it comes to sarcasm.
True smiles are an involuntary act so the whole face is more animate especially around the eyes.

Yep, I did too! If the eyes don't smile, then you know it's fake.

But maybe growing up with five older sisters help me on my path to enlightenment.

Please everyone take a good look look at the lady with blond short hair that smile was soooooooooooo fake and yet they claimed it was real makes me question the whole thing

some of those people were kind of creepy looking

16 out of 20, but felt like I was guessing for many of them. Like someone else said, I wondered how they elicited a 'real' vs. 'fake' smile out of some of them.
