How long before the PTB decide the internet is a threat to their overall agenda and instruct all their minions across the globe to "PULL THE PLUG"?

With all the decisions being made behind closed doors every day that we the public have no knowledge of, it stands to reason that we simply will wake up one day and "POOF" the internet will have disappeared.

I for one hope it does, while I have become accustomed to the daily ritual, I would welcome the decision to pull all the plugs; I long for the simpler days of being brainwashed and manipulated by the cable news.

While they are at it....get rid of cable too.

Oh and cell phones....ever wonder what you are going to do when you have an emergency and no land lines and the communication you rely on becomes unusable due to ....them PULLING the plug on cell towers?

How many of you still have a land line? How many GOVT"S across the globe have gone to wireless?

It is going to be a really sad the day for anyone that needs emergency service and will not be able to call for it.

Every line of communication is completely at the mercy of PTB and when they decide the time is right they will just simply hunker down in their well stocked bunkers and watch from their CCTV cameras; while their drones will patrol the skies providing them all with much needed comedy from the chickens or sheep running around with their heads cut off, eating popcorn and drinking beer just like the SUPER BOWL of morons, or the WORLD SERIES of idiots, or the CHAMPIONSHIP of chaos...

I know this probably seems like a rant, but it is not....rather it is a wake up call for those of you to be prepared...and I don't mean DOOMSDAY prepping...I mean emotional and spiritual prepping.

Why would they turn it all off ?

They make big money from all of it.

Plus, they can watch you and track you.

They love all that nosy stuff.

They won't give up the internet per se, it will simply continue to evolve from a P2P information resource into more of a interactive propaganda and data mining operation.

I'm sure I'm preaching to the converted, but Google, Facebook and Twitter is nothing about social media, its about getting as much information about our lives as possible so they can micro-manage public opinion and manipulate us as best they can. We like to think we are independent thinkers, but even those of us who think we know what we're talking about are probably half walking into traps they set with misinformation.

The UK is now about to start using the Chinese filtering company to block porn under 'think of the children' rhetoric, how long before it begins to block 'extremist' websites (of which the Government invariably decides what constitutes 'extreme'.)

All torrent downloads will be stopped within a few years too, so I suggest everyone starts getting all the music they can before they pull the plug on that one. I did write a blog article about this the other day as it goes.

I was here before that stuff, we did ok.We'll still do so.Don't worry, just buy pads to write stuff down, you'll need to if you still want to keep track of all your info.

I see too much interglobal commerse going on for what you suggest. The net is here to grow up and be come an AI,I think.

Because before the internet there were no close door meetings.

I'm trying to figure out if you even thought this little (as you make it seem) scenario through. If you think a pulled plug is going to bring you "simple days" you're delusional. It'll take you days to mentally play out all the different scenarios of the effect it would have on our currency alone. The day TPTB pull this "plug" kiss your planet goodbye because it'll throw every internet-dependent nation back into the stone age and we'd wipe ourselves out.

A source told me that there are more than a dozen 'bottlenecks' in the internet, on the continental or global scale. Source claimed that those bottlenecks are administered and open because the US govt spends money to operate the facilities to keep the net up, world-wide.

He also claimed that most of it was in the US defense budget, but that it was costing billions per month, and growing as fast at the internet.

Supposedly, every day that goes by, the net gets a little more rickety and a little more reliant on US funds. If they ever cannot pay the growing bill, you'd supposedly end up with a jillion regional or even provincial independent networks, that would become less and less compatible the longer they were separated.

A story, nothing more.

Nobody "owns" the internet, so shutting it down would be pretty difficult.. much of the infrastructure is controlled by private businesses .. I used to work for one of the largest internet providers in my state in fact..

The internet connections themselves aren't owned by the government either, There are several large backbone providers in the US, you'd have to take all of them out to effectively kill the internet.. The only thing the US government can do is wipe out the DNS root servers that they maintain ownership and control of...and even that wouldn't destroy the internet, that can be circumvented.. google's DNS wouldn't go down, neither would opendns

It also just wouldn't make any sense.. we also know the public outrage that would result =) so I think the post is fearmongering ..

If you want to pull your plug do it but please leave my internet alone. Nobody makes you log on. Why do people feel the need to make decisions for others? Sounds like a Mayor Bloomberg thing.

What you're referring to is the DNS root servers, the only function of those servers is to maintain a list of all of the domain names in the world.. When you register a domain name it gets added to those servers along with the IP addresses of the DNS servers that control where they point ( DNS being that tech that resolves your domain name to it's numeric IP address )

The US government was due to give up control to an organization that is international but after 9/11 happened the government decided against giving it up for "national security" ..

It's true if you take those out then you make the internet difficult to navigate because you'd have to use IP addresses or third party DNS providers which may not be in sync with eachother.

I don't understand why your source would say these servers are rickety though, they simply provide a simple database of domains and ip addresses.. those servers are easy to upgrade and replace..

Oh and to clarify, there's thirteen facilities scattered around the US with clusters of root servers in each.. they are redundant, so you'd have to take out every server in all 13 clusters to damage it.. it's also not handled by the DOD, it's handled by the US Department of Commerce

en.wikipedia.org...

I don't even believe the government OWNS these server clusters.. they are administered by IANA which gets a percentage of the money when a domain name is purchased.. ( They get a cut of what GoDaddy makes for example ) .. the US Department of Commerce just has to approve those names, that is how they've maintained control of the service.

PTB? You mean the demons who use our leaders like invisible ghost puppet masters pulling carriages of human flesh to and fro?

Half of congress is in league with Lucifer.

Their demon possessed parents even name them with some foresight.

Wiener. What a perfect name.

Indeed why would they shut the internet down?

Biggest and most successful mass manipulation apparatus ever created by man kind.

Never going to happen.

The internet would never "Go down" the powers that think they
are in charge can do what they will, but as we all know to many
hackers out there that would step up and find a way around
anything the ones wanting to take it down.

Its grown to big to simply shut off, to many redundant servers,
to many people counting on it for a living.

The only way it could go down is if we get hit with a CME or solar
flare, other than that i just dont see anyone, govt or otherwise putting a stop
to it.

Same with cell phones and other devices.

Like them or not they are a part of life now, and will grow as we grow.

Hackers wouldn't even need to step in.. the government simply can't shut the internet down.. the "internet backbone" consists of six tier one providers that make up the core infrastructure of the internet, they are corporate entities that provide internet connections to smaller tier companies .. there are three tiers, tier 2 and tier 3 have far more companies in them.

Those tier 1 companies are:

Level 3 Communications
CenturyLink
Cable & Wireless Worldwide
UUNet
Sprint and AT&T Corporation
Genuity.

To really kill the internet you have to take out those six companies that have data centers all over the world.. every internet connection that is made, every request to a website.. goes through one or more of those networks.

The only thing the government "controls" are the internet root zones and even then, it doesn't actually operate those servers.. it just approves, rejects or requests the removal of domain names from the databases.. which would also not kill the internet.

The notion that TPTB have some kind of on off switch for the internet is absurd if you really know how it all works.. You have the six tier one providers that then provide connections to tier two companies, and tier two provides to tier three .. then you get the spidering out of internet connections to companies and homes all over the world, like one giant spiderweb,

It's impossible to take out the internet.. you can only disrupt it in pieces.. the only thing that would really kill the net would be a massive EMP pulse that took out power grids all over the world
... pandora's box has been opened, there's no way of putting the internet back inside.

Anyone who thinks the internet will "POOF" and disappear just doesn't understand how it works.. it was conceived to be resilient with redundancy, and evolved specifically to have no "central command" .. no single point of failure

About the only thing that would 'kill' the internet for most people is a massive power failure.

During Hurricane Katrina, power was off and nothing worked.

Batteries go dead.

Unless you have a solar charger.

Because at some point the commercialization will be outlived and the need to eliminate communication will become paramount.

Commerce will not be the issue for long...they will want to eliminate communication...it doesn't have to be just an internet plug being pulled...it can be as simple as eliminating electricity...make no mistake about it, when they decide to do it we will all simply cease to have the ability to communicate.
