The perspective implies he thinks that "they"

I really don't know if it is or isn't...I am thinking why don't you U2U this person and just ask them.

If it's permissible to say, was the world's most wanted man a member before becoming his new high profile self? I'm certainly not asking for member records type confirmation. That would be against every ethical rule in existence, if not real laws somewhere ...but I imagine that, unlike Loughner or good 'ol Mr JT Ready, this one would have brought major feds and serious LEO attention knocking on the ATS doorstep as a routine part of checking back to Snowden's birth. Would that part be 'confirm-able?'
