oh please. and how the hell does taxing people help that fictitious situation? so we throw money down into volcanoes to seal up what they spew forth? maybe we make air filters out of our cash and process the worlds air....

why has every single alternative technology to the combustion engine been shot down for the last 50 + years?

why is it that every doomsday scenario from the 90s has fallen short of climate hell?

how is it that in 120 years of measuring the climate with crude technology that we all of a sudden know hands down what the natural cycles of weather are over a thousand years?

so after the mini ice age in medieval times the earth warmed from natural global warming but now its because be drive too many cars?

what ever. you pay the tax....I will never and many will not. worry about the others that will do worse then that though.....

Star for you!

Carbon Taxes........ WTH ever............

People are so ignorant. The carbon tax is based on the successful program that stopped acid rain destruction in the Northeast. It's considered a "market based" solution, and isn't targeted at regular people.
If there's a viable alternative energy that costs less than carbon based fuels then businesses will move to it which will cut carbon, duh.

Of course I think that global warming is caused more by cutting forests, paving over the planet and all the heat generating devices we make.

I eat acid rain for breakfast.

Ps:

What is that? Liberal speak?

None of that is true by the way. People move away from places like that.

Of course I think that global warming is caused more by cutting forests, paving over the planet and all the heat generating devices we make.

You mean heaters right?

Oh paid any attention to the financial crisis of 2008 with GSA's being bought and sold, and manipulated ?

Imagine the same thing on a global scale on a 'carbon tax'.

They are not just going to enact a tax, they are going to auction off credits in a cap and trade scheme. Do you understand just how corrupt this is?

I do...there are not many who can see right through it like me.

The reason they will fail is because they rely on the ignorance of people or paid "useful idiots" as seen above. Obama and the democrats have spent too much time campaigning for useful idiots but not enough time reaching across the aisle which is why they will fail. And no Im not talking about Republicans, I am talking about Americans. Most people do not trust that guy and rightly so.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but even if you do end up paying carbon tax, 7 billion people will die during the next hundred years.

So the carbon tax isn't going to save anyone...

As skeptic on the fear porn being sold as 'Global Warming' obviously the climate changes has for millions, and billions of years, and it has survived asteroids, meteor's, and super volcanoes, it will survive mankind.

While I agree with you there, you've got to remember, the planet can survive without us, and that might be what happens. There's a runaway train effect happening that is beyond our control. We can't point at Us directly and say "stop doing this" and fix it, but the fact remains, the earth does go through natural heating and cooling cycles. That's part of nature and evidenced in the ice core samples being taken from places like Lake Volstok. (forgive my horrible spelling of that).

There is a difference this time. We're adding a lot of carbon into the atmosphere, we are, you can't even pretend to deny that. We've been told to be scared, we've been warned that the ice caps are going to disappear. Well those things seem to shrink and grow in direct relation to the levels of co2 in the atmosphere.

Here's the thing though, when they melt, they are receding more and more each year, then growing back. As they do, they have the potential to start releasing large amounts of methane into the atmosphere. We're already doing that with natural gas. Methane is in the atmosphere for a shorter period, true, but it's about 100X worse to have there than co2 during that period, it accelerates the warning.

If we don't ensure humans don't tip that balance over the edge to the point that the climate changes, and it can and has in the past, we might not be able to recover.

Taxes and other scams aren't going to help anything other than line the pockets of those at the right places. Fear mongering and exaggeration aren't going to help at all. That's where the climate scientists failed us. Maybe they borked the numbers to keep their grants. Maybe some of them thought alarmism is the best way to get people involved. But in the end, it casts doubt on a very real issue.

THere is no reason, from the historical records we now have, to assume planet earth will always be habitable for US. It wasn't for a long time, it's a relatively short period that it has. The environment changes, with or without our input.

But it's a pretty basic concept. The climate ebbs and flows on it's own, but it's a closed system, so once some variable starts to mess with the balance (us) things can change in unexpected ways.

I don't see the oceans rising 3 feet in my lifetime, no, I don't see this doom and gloom end of the world coming at us that fast, but I refuse to bury my head in the sand, and I'll fight a carbon tax as hard as I can, as it offers NO solutions, only incentive to deceive for profit, like every other industry.

Millions of cows will die WITH a carbon tax because Al Gore will be having a non stop BBQ in his palatial back yard watching his net worth skyrocket.

So what's his problem?

Millions die, consumption falls, emissions drop, problem solved.

What's with people always trying to manipulate nature?

We have to save all the trees so forest fires burn hotter and longer.
We have to relocate the wolves, now the elk numbers are falling.
We need to save the algae, now toxic blooms are making people sick.

There's too many people but we need to save them all and we need to reduce their consumption. Trying to have it both ways.

If there's a problem with the climate and humans are causing it the climate will fix it. That fix is what's driving all the fear and mad dash to engineer society, right? So just let the climate fix itself.

Government would rather systematically round up people and exterminate them than just let them die on their own. I find that bizarre and sick.

I don't know if the far left actually believes this stuff or if it's just padding for their bank accounts. Being the cynical person that I am ... I'm thinking it's them just padding their bank accounts and they KNOW that this is a bunch of bunk. BAD ON THEM!

Then why should everyone pay for them?

Shouldn't we, the population, fine those corporations NOT even trying to use alternative energy?

They have the money, we don't. They can change their businesses anytime.

Within the next 20 years, millions will die.

Um. . . . because they got old, or sick, or knew of Obama's real birth certificate, or were about to reveal the secrets of Fatima.

But not because of global warming.

I'd like to kick this guy's butt with my size 13 carbon footprint!

Don't you see ??? The far left is heavily invested in the 'alternative energy' companies.
That is why they are fear mongering and pushing to try to destroy established companies
so that the 'alternative energy' companies that they are heavily invested in can take off financially.

It's a scam. A money making scam for the far left.

And the 'alternative energy' companies are sucky.

Generally lousy products and over priced.

Have you considered, that maybe it's intended? Look around you, everything is become more expensive ... the economy is collapsing. And the general concensus is that there are too many people in the world. Maybe the best way to get rid of us, is to have us freeze to death when the cold comes ...

brrrrrr....

Well, golly gee. Millions will die unless we build this scam to make rich people far richer off our backs. Well, lets run right out in our tattered economy and just shoot the damn thing right between it's poor little eyes to end it's misery right and proper.

Here's a newsflash for this Bozo running for office..... Approx 7 BILLION people are going to die. It's 100% certain. A horrible tragedy. carnage across the globe and he's one of them. So are you and so am I.

It's called life. It's 100% fatal. There is no cure and there is no treatment. Every single life form to attempt it, dies from it, without a single exception in the history of the world.

So this ranting and raving like some idiotic lunatic off his meds is just ignorance on a stick for the public to gawk at ...and some fools to actually feel worried by. Oh, how the people in power toy with and play with the public's emotions. It's like watching a grand master play chess. You know the outcome, but it's still amazing to watch how it really happens.

Carbon tax is a joke. Much too late to do anything now (if indeed it was ever possible in the first place).

www.guardian.co.uk...

We should be preparing now by hardening our national infrastructure. People will die and when it starts happening people in the places worst affected will get desperate. It means more war and strife.

You aren't allowed to even question the science behind this scam without being shouted down

Because there's no question that it's real. Millions of people will die from climate change, millions are dying already from living in crappy places that are already not able to support people. Our pollution and planet heating is going to increase it.

I hope you are not totally serious.

I am not a climate change "denier" but...I am yet to be convinced it is mankind's fault. There was a time that temperate forests existed on Antarctica and there was a time we refer to as "snowball earth" when the entire planet was covered in ice.

As far as people living in crappy places that cannot support people...it reminds me of a Sam Kenison routine years ago where he said "Don't send these people food....send them moving vans. See this, it's sand...you cannot grow anything in sand! MOVE!"

Natural selection. If people live in places that are not hospitable to life....then there will be no life there. Kinda harsh but no one told people "Oh go right ahead and live in the desert where you cannot find water or feed yourselves...just expect the rest of the world to take care of you"...stupid is as stupid does.
