You know the crappy rhetoric from Obama of failed policies, promises, hopes and change just gets crappy and crappy, and old.

Obama said his key focus will be “job security with good wages and durable industries, a good education, a home to call your own, affordable health care when you get sick, a secure retirement even if you’re not rich, reducing poverty, reducing inequality, growing opportunity, that’s what we need.”

So in the last 5 years what the Obozo in the white house have accomplished, oh, yeah we are to get obamacare shove up our rear ends.

What Obozo got accomplished is to call all Americans enemies and have us all under surveillance with a police state where the new gestapo police can harass Americans at will.

There is no evidence stating that they did. You offered an article, echoed by others, about OWS and such being put on a "list". A list separate of the Right leaning groups.

There is no evidence showing that left leaning groups were treated, investigated, withheld or even approached in the same manner.

You.....are being dishonest.

He's not the one deciding economic policy - the bankers are. That means he's really tied up by the mess the bankers got the country into with house-price inflating, quantitative easing, mortgage foreclosures, offshoring, trade deficit with China, wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya and Syria. Trying to stop the banks from raiding the rest of the country would devastate the New York economy.

Hey Mac -- I'l disregard the "dishonest" bait...I have provided links...multiple, where you have provided none for the claim that somehow this was a "seperate" list than the list the right leaning groups were placed on?

Everything I have read has said it is the SAME BOLO list. Care to provide a link?

I read it in the link that you provided:

The new information released, however, does reveal that conservative groups, including those affiliated with the 9/12 protests in 2010, were kept on a separate list from other groups. According to USA Today:

The raw story.com link. I will go to the USA Today story.

From the USA Today story:

But the documents also suggest that the Internal Revenue Service saw the Tea Party as a separate class. The notes of a July 28, 2010, workshop in Cincinnati, for example, instructed front-line screeners to "err on the side of caution" and "re-emphasize" that all potential political groups were to be marked for more investigation. The notes also said that "'Progressive' applications are not considered 'Tea Parties.'"

Tea Parties, patriot groups and groups affiliated with the conservative "9/12 project" were kept on an "emerging issues" list that caused their applications to be held up for 27 months even as progressive groups had their tax exemptions approved. Another key word revealed in the documents for the first time is "pink-slip program," an apparent reference to a conservative movement to "send Congress a pink slip" by voting members out of office.

Thanks Butch and a star for digging it up.

Part of this is confusion about the BOLO (be on the look out list) and what these terms mean and how they are used. Apparently there are sub-categories on the BOLO list...

So they were not on a "seperate" list...same BOLO list, but a sub-category.

Despite the recent revelations, the BOLO could still be problematic for the IRS. The list’s “emerging issues” category included only conservative terms at the outset, raising questions about why the IRS prioritized conservative groups but none from the left.

The term “progressive” appeared in a separate part of the BOLO, under the “touch and go historical” criteria.

Questions remain about when and how the progressive terms were used, as well as whether BOLO categories other than “emerging issues” were even relevant to the audit. The IRS and George’s office said this week that they’re still looking into those matters.

www.washingtonpost.com...

What does "emerging issues" mean and what does "touch and go historical" mean.

I would contend that at a minimum they warranted different treatment as the "tea party" tag under "emerging issues" category was flagged consistantly and "touch and go" roughly 3 out of 10?

That said...still not buying the theme that this was some Whitehouse plan to pound on Conservative Groups..

After all TEA = "taxed enough already" it's hard to fault a less than brilliant IRS seeing those folks as warranting further scrutiny to see if they are evading taxes in thier org.

The IRS does suck...and they do need to be straightened out on this issue...But I haven't seen anything left or right that tells me this is some conspiratorial plan to punish conservatives.

Just my opinion...Best..

The "O" administration is still on the divide and conquer platform. Call us names, throw out BS and hope it sticks, it will with those that depend on him taking from others to give to them. Time to throw out the whole bunch in DC and start over. I see this as the only way that those that want to make a difference can get in and not be overwhelmed by the machine.

Was it R, Gibbs that said something like we came into Washington to make a change but it changed us. may not be exact quote but those we elect have to deal with the machine of DC and cannot get done what we want them too--replacing all, stops the machine and we can try to get back to what our founding fathers envisioned the roles of and members of congress.

The way I read it, they were in a different list that was separate from the whole.
It even had a name, the 'Emerging Issues list.
Then there's that part of the story where the emerging issues were held up for 27 months while progressive groups were put through the system.

LOL!

When has Obama ever come up with an action plan on his own?

For some reason, your comment reminded me of something Obama said in his 2011 State of the Union address...

From the earliest days of our founding, America has been the story of ordinary people who dare to dream. That’s how we win the future.

We’re a nation that says, “I might not have a lot of money, but I have this great idea for a new company.” “I might not come from a family of college graduates, but I will be the first to get my degree.” “I might not know those people in trouble, but I think I can help them, and I need to try.”

“I’m not sure how we’ll reach that better place beyond the horizon, but I know we’ll get there. I know we will.”

The problem is, that Obama is one of those people who has only DREAMED....of someone else coming up with a plan since the day he took office!!!

Do people really believe this crap?

It's never been as obvious as it is today that our politicians, and particularly the POTUS, are rhetoric spewing marionettes. Obama says what he's "supposed" to say. He plays populist. Plays progressive. He is an actor, as they all are. Supplying us all with words to pick apart and argue over.

If you pay attention to the words, as the pundits do, then you believe him to be a liberal, or a Marxist, or a Muslim, or a defender of the middle class against crony capitalists.

However, when studying his actions, you see someone who is in complete contrast to what his words lead many to believe. He murders thousands of innocent people around the globe - most in Islamic countries. He has connections to the big banks and big business and serves them well despite many a misdirection. He shreds the Constitution at every step.

True liberals hate him. True conservatives hate him (and not because he's a "socialist"). He has no regard for the American people, the American way of life, and basic human rights.

This is the Globalists man, if there ever was one. He was picked to lead us into the New Era.

I find it insidiously ingenious that so many in the mainstream Right bash Obama and "liberal" ideology, as if he himself is one. And I'm a libertarian conservative, though admittedly with a liberal streak. But this is the strategy - they must discredit and remove the last safeguards put in place to protect the people. These by their definition are liberal ideologies. Not liberal as in Big Government, but liberal as in Jeffersonian human rights and the defense thereof. Media, the church, universities, unions, the arts... These are liberal institutions designed to insure basic human rights are protected and maintained, but they are being stripped away and discredited under Obama and his "opponents". It's genius, really. But frightening.

It's like ObamaCare. Most on the Right bash it because it's "socialist" or whatever. When in reality, we should have better health care and it should be available to every American. Socialist or not. The problem with ObamaCare is it wasn't written by Obama, it was written by the large insurance companies and they are forcing us to take part in the buying of their products.

Unions sold their soul to the Machine and are being discredited. Same with media. And the church. And universities.

The very safeguards we have are being turned on their head. They will not be there much longer to protect us. Unless we remove ourselves from this false Left-Right paradigm and understand that quality ideas come from each side of the spectrum, we are doomed. People need to stop listening to the lies and start watching the actions of these people. It's not hard to see who Obama really is.

Tea Party members were barred from attendance?

Entry Into Obama Event Over ‘Security Reasons’

ETA, ok not the same college but there is a pattern here.
This is a Saul Alinsky tactic, work within the system.

the IRS it turned out was equally targeting left wing groups..

[snip]

292 Conservative groups were targeted and 6 Progressive groups. That's a 50-1 discrepancy from being "equal".

And the bombshell dropped this week is that it was not some rogue office in Cincinnati, but it came down from an Obama appointee in Washington.

It pains me to see anyone clinging to the left-right BS... unless they are invested ?

Folks are hurting, worried, struggling.. and it's ok to play the game?

We are losing the founding principles of our country, and folks would rather drive discussion on party platforms?

Really?

I'm sorry, but the Progressives need to be stopped. Unless you want the US to end up like Portugal, Spain, or Greece. If you don't have the stomach for this fight then get out of the way. Once Obamacare is fully up and running the final nail in the coffin of our Republic will be nailed. And it's not been "left VS right" since the days of Regean. It's Progressive VS Conservative. The Progressives are the Democrats and establishment Republicans, that's why they both equally attack the TEA party. And likewise the reason people are surprised when nothing changes from one president to the next either D or R.

IMO, that's what TPTB want us to do...

We have a very special nation here, and it's existence is in peril...

There comes a time where WE need to shelve the minor argument/debate, and focus on what allows us to be so fiesty in those debates....

If we lose the founding principles, we have lost our freedom to be so fiesty in our debates...

Make sense?

Have you even read the Federalist Papers? Anti-Federalist papers? This is PRECISELY what the founders were doing, fighting for liberty and forming a Constitutional republic. TPTB want us to do what you're suggesting, sit back, give up, don't get engaged. Mark my words, if we don't fight this on a war of words level now in a few years when the house of cards comes crashing down we will be fighting this in the streets and hills with a real war and millions will die.

I disagree... that we should fight with words, IMO, we should calm the storm with words, get folks of all sides to take a deep breath, and perhaps read the papers that you mention, understand how precious a thing we have going on here...

TPTB don't give a rat's ass about our founding principles... I would still put my hat on the folks if they take that deep breath, pregnant pause, and see what we are on the precipice of losing....

Ok Obama, lets settle this right here and now. You say phoney? Well what is your proof? We have plenty of proof of all of these scandals. Lets see one shred of proof that says otherwise. Guilty as charged! The defense is defenseless and all talk. Nuff said.

Yep. Everything he says, at this point, is a lie and a joke. (Not a good kind of joke either)

Example, he denied the NSA crap which we knew was true because of Snowden and he leaked docs... But I could go on about it. Fact of the matter is hes a lying ahole...

You can disregard all you want.

Why don't you read the articles you provided.

It clearly states that OWS and another like minded group was put on "a list", but NO where does it state that they received the same treatment as the Right leaning groups.

Again, dishonest......Maybe illiterate???
