The gods are angry they are making thunder

Wow I was just awoken here in Yorkshire to the biggest storm I have ever seen
Thunder and lightning every 30 seconds rain tipping it down, all the gutters are overflowing, my back yard under about 3 inch of water and it only started 20 mins ago .
Stay safe everyone, I think I will stay in today.
Hope my cat is ok, I better get his towel ready he sure will need it

They have announced extremely violent storms with hail...

I absolutely love thunderstorms.
They make me all tingley and excited.
I also like to sleep during big storms.
It's great fun when camping and they happen to just run around completely naked splashing mud all over oneself and dance about to the flashes and bangs of lightning and thunder.
If it's been a few days in the bush, bringing out the soap is a good idea too

I could be wrong but I think I remember a post by you where you said something about practicing your Jedi skills with a lightsaber and a police helicopter flew overhead. It was on a thread about the protests in Egypt.

I managed to get caught out in it! That was the craziest lightning I've seen in a long time. Glad it's over with now and we definitely need the rain after all this heat

Jakes just come back like a drowned rat, he came in jumped on the chair meowed lots until I got his towel and rubbed him dry, he enjoys that, purrs like mad.
Rain has passed now but expecting more later on.

Plenty of thunder and lightning here too, in the South, parallel to London heading West, started around 4 am, the real, extremely loud, directly overhead sort, started around 6.15am, no chance of sleeping through that. Monsoon style rain, roads flooded within minutes, car alarms sounding. It has eased for now but still possible for more.

There was an even louder thunder storm here in 2006, for a few hours during the night, there were multiple forks of lightning across the whole sky and the loudest booms of thunder I have ever heard, it went on for ages.
