6.9 Earthquake New Zealand

I just saw on CNN that New Zealand had another earthquake. The first thing that I thought of was the 2011 earthquake in New Zealand.

Why? 17 days later, Japan had that huge earthquake. I hope it won't happen again, but before the Ne Zealand earthquake in 2011, I never heard much from down there.

It was a very strong quake however

Also we get LOTS of earthquakes, around 17000 a year, but 80 to 100 are ones to take notice of. Christchurch however was the "quake free city" till 2010
