The Truman Show delusion is a type of persecutory/grandiose delusion in which patients believe their lives are staged plays or reality television shows. The term was coined in 2008 by brothers Joel and Ian Gold, a psychiatrist and a neurophilosopher, respectively, after the 1998 film The Truman Show. It is not officially recognized and is not separately listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association,[1] but could be classified as a "Delusional Disorder, Persecutory Type".[citation needed] Truman Syndrome may be a related condition.

...What if that ultimate conspiracy is that YOU are being used by a government somewhere else to gauge the reaction of topics or ideas so that they can take that information and compile it into a database of what they can and cannot get away with?

What if YOU are having a meltdown?

Big historical events have happened through out human history. But big event does not mean conspiracy.
You can see proof to dispel your own theory right in your own city.
Watch your local election results. Look how often the races are neck and neck. If they are trying to steer the population, they suck at it.

As the old saying goes: You can't get two people to agree if the sun is shining.
What one group wants to push through, the other wants to block.
What one group wants to keep secret, the other wants to expose.

Hense gridlock. You can't create a conspiracy with gridlock.
