It seems that in almost all other species, especially primates, baring one's teeth is a threat or a show of potential force. How did the 'smile' become a friendly gesture in humans? Are there any cultures in which smiling is not considered friendly?

Monkeys are completely awesome! They are caring, compassionate and completely family orientated! Some of my best friends are monkeys, and I like them a Hell of a lot better than some of the people I run across. I'll take a monkey over a childish, judgemental jackwipe any day!

No one wants you banned...we just want you to show some adult human qualities..empathy, maturity and tact, and stopped acting so wounded, if you really are old then youll have plenty of wounds like the rest of us, and its not a unique condition to feel special, it comes from lifes experiences and no one is above anyone else here.
