I agree, but journey times would then run into centuries at least. That's impracticable for any meaningful purpose.

It would be meaningful when the Earth is becoming uninhabitable due to the Sun being in the last stages of its life. The spaceship would have to be a gigantic self-sufficient space station that supports generations of people. They would have to be content with spending their whole life on the spaceship, hoping that their children or grandchildren would colonise an earth-like planet at some point. Such a spaceship would have to provide some sort of artificial gravity, otherwise people who spent all their lives (or a considerable part of it) in zero-g would be unable to function in a planet's gravity.

I think the best chance we have of getting anywhere in space is the antimatter drive. I wonder how close to the speed of light it would get us.

Maybe any human purpose. But humans will evolve. And let's not forget there may be others out there very different than we are now.

I heard of 300 miles per second being physically realizable.
But the same person said we need a space ship hull three feet thick.
The good part was his ship was weightless and good to go.
I just don't see chances 1 of 8 giving reason to ship out for any
planet. Especially after Earth history and science and future in
the hands of liars. Stick to Earth sciences.

The Hadron collider was a scam to hide and store huge amounts
of copper. Perhaps to make Tesla ships to escape the planet when
the planet people get wise to elite suppression. The scenario has been
run through and works in part but only to a new Earth location.
