Military officials have said 3,000 to 5,000 insurgents may have been inside the city,

edition.cnn.com...

Insurgent casualty numbers have mounted. Newell said his Army unit has killed or wounded 85 to 90 insurgents.

If the insurgents don't fight, they will melt away and US will never stop the insurgents. If they fight they will most likely be killed and have most likely the insurgency will be crushed.

Comment from a US soilder "We've killed all the dumb ones in the last year, now the smart ones are left"

Thinker yesterday in the news the amount of "insurgents" were only 14 hundred and to tell you the truth they porbably blended with the population prior of the attacks on that city.

Is going to be hard to spot them within the population when most of them are actually iraqi citizens, their families are not going to give them away they are in their country after all.

Or better yet, like Vietnam all over again. This time in the sand. We do have a Texan for a President, seems like History does repeat itself.
