Wanna Go To Legoland? TOO BAD

Turns out that unless you have a child with you you're not welcome at Legoland. Now, they do have "adults night" twice a month, but who would have thought to check the website for something like that?

Some people have grown up with Lego their entire lives and still have an active imagination and a huge soft spot for the engaging construction toy.

The defense for not letting adults in is that Legoland (and not the parents/guardians of the children attending) feel it is their responsibility to protect the children.

No Lego for You

A 63-year-old Windsor man and avid Lego fan drove hours to the Vaughan Mills Legoland, only to be told he wasn’t allowed in because he didn’t have a child.

I get it. But are all of us adult males just pre-emptively considered guilty?

Wow! That just seems very unfair.
I happen to be one of those adults that still loves legos. I've kept all the sets my son's had, and even bought some of the harry potter ones for myself!
So, I guess I will have to wait on the grandbabies if I actually want to go there. Or borrow someone else's kid!

It's their business; when you reject people, you reject money. But people have been installed with fear from strangers because they don't know what can happen and they fear the worse. Very irrational.

I love them too! My brother (a huge legonerd) and his girlfriend just came up for a visit from the states and I almost sent him there for something to do. Glad I didn't get his hopes up. lol

Oh, it's absolutely their business. I operate a business and so does my wife and we maintain our right to deny whomever we want for whatever reason we want. I got no beef with it in principle. It's just sort of sad for these reasons, is all.

This is donkey do do... do As a male who grew up with Legos.... I find that everytime I walk down the isle's in toy-r-us... I have to stop and look at the new Lego models... Like Ninjago's.... Hoiboi.... Inner geek coming out folks..... And that's the point... No matter how old us Men get, we are always a big kid inside.... I would play with lego's all day if I had the monatery funds to not work.... That would be legendary...

Awwww what a shame......I have several adult family members that Love Lego....it's funny my step Dad told me once that one of the things he enjoyed so much about the kids visiting was getting to go to places like the zoo, Disneyland, etc.that him and my Mom would probably not visit otherwise, looks like to go to Legoland he would need a child escort to get in.....pretty crazy.....

I am patiently (barely) awaiting the day that my son is old enough for the cool sets so that I may vicariously live (create) through him. I'm trying to get him jazzed for the "creator" sets. You can make like three different things with those bad boys and several models have LEDs and working motors, man!

I'll tell you one thing, these mega blocks my kid has just ain't cutting it.

That's one of the biggest joys of parenthood! You get to relive all of that again! The reaction of my son to the first Christmas parade brought me to tears. So beautiful.

Man I love Legos.....

My Son has many sets, and I help him build them. I also went out of my way a few years back to buy some classic sets I had as a child. Very expensive I may say. I would be a little peeved if I wasn't allowed into Legoland, but its their right to refuse. I wonder if they are worried about child predators ? Just a thought.

Buying awesome toys as a single adult? Creepy and not cool.

Buying awesome toys as a parent? Totally acceptable.

So, if you want to play with awesome toys -- either have a kid, or borrow a random one for a Toy's R Us run.

Edit: Protip -- helps to ask a friend of the same race/ethnicity as you if you do "borrow" their kid for a toy store run.

Yes my daughter has lots of starwars toys.

The Florida LegoLand doesn't seem to have such a restriction... I've seen several reviews of adults that went sans kids. My wife and I are big kids at heart, and have annual passes to most theme parks in Orlando (as only about an hour drive away).
