Hi folks,

Yesterday i had my rant of the month where i said this "It really niggles and narks me as to how some people can winge and whine about their own country non stop... Gvt this and President that bla bla bla... and never talk about what is going on around them... "

Thread here : www.abovetopsecret.com...

It seems that in a way i was right because on the 15th (yesterday) this news was breaking and i do not see one single person talking about it here on ATS... :

Hundreds arrested in US-led operation against sex predators

US authorities have arrested 255 suspected child predators and rescued 61 children in a five-week sweep that spanned nine countries and was known as “Operation iGuardian”.

The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency led the international operation to capture online sexual abusers and those who possess, produce or sell child pornography. The agency told reporters that sex abusers are using a method known as “sextortion”, in which they blackmail children into sending pornographic images of themselves to the abusers.

Link here : rt.com...

For once stop complaining, open your eyes and see that your Gvt is also capable of doing something for a MUCH MORE justworthy cause.

Kindest respects

So are you suggesting I offer absolution to the US government because of one just act?

Our government is responsible for mass murder, support of genocide and the subjugation of its own people among hundreds of other crimes. I am not interested in praising them for one possible act of justice.

My apologies Nephalim,

Then in that case just google this then : Hundreds arrested in US-led operation against sex predators

You will find that it is splattered all over internet.

I don't even live in the US but keep aware of what is going on around the world, that's all!... nothing wrong with that is there?

Did i suggest that to you in person Metallicis? no i did not, but if some people just prefer to observe the negative things in life then what a sad and lonely world (walled in country) we/you are living no?

Ok, so your Gvt does some crap things and we all know that (as our Gvts do too!) and i personally we all acknowledge the fact, but maybe if certain people here stopped complaining half the time... then other ATSers might also have a more positive outlook towards issues?

I respect the sentiment Rodinus, it's a nice reminder that there are still obviously good people within our governments trying to do the right thing. It's easy being a member of ATS to become jaded from the constant barrage of the negative. Star and flag

I haven't posted on ATS for a while mostly for that exact reason. All the threads here just see whats wrong with the world and what they think everyone is doing wrong. No one can take a step back and truly examine everything when you focus so much on the negative.

Its why the average ATSer has such a warped view of our countries. We only see the bad, so we don't notice the good.

Trueman, thank you for your comment.

Your country is not the only one that suffers in the world... each and every one of us here on ATS (no matter what country we come from) pays the consequences in some way or the other due to acts of our Gvts (whether we like it or not!)

If people just took a little time out and started to look for more positive topics here on ATS then what an even more interesting and fun place ATS would become no?

Half of the topics i sometimes read here should be automatically directed to the rant section because they are so negative!

MAY I SUGGEST THAT ADMIN CREATE A NEW FORUM??

THE POSITIVE THINKING FORUM!!??

This is of course good news, but one has to wonder with so many in high places into this sort of thing (without pointing a specific finger) just how many of those were included in the sweep?

I think the real point is that IF they REALLY wanted to shut down these sites they could do it instantly so whilst the tiny amount they have done is good, they could do much better if they wished to IMO.

True. Very true.

What registered in my mind almost immediately is Stephen Covey, the late guru. ( "7 Habits").

And that addage from JFK "Ask not".

We are our government 'coz we put these people there. If our government fails, it is because we have failed to do our part.

The government is sure not perfect - as long as men made it. But it can be improved. If everybody pitch in, we'd be richer than where we are today.

My fear is that time will come when we will all be but a former superpower and is relegated to a more unimportant role.

Will we be able to build America again? The answer lies not in government but in each of use.

Believe it or not in some countries that kind of porn is legal. The sites are usually run out of those, I would venture. The goal really isn't to take them down so much as trace the porn so arrests can be made.

I will say that one job i would never want is sifting through and chasing down these people. We don't give the government enough credit on this end. It must be hard for individuals to deal with this sort of thing.

You can do good as long as you want, but bad things count, especially with the governments which are the main executive force of the power.
That said, good for them, but that does not absolve them from the guilt of other bad things they did or still doing.

Thanks Puter,

Yes... many people up in high (AND middle class and lower class) places are probably involved in this unwordable behaviour... but needs to be proved...

BUT... if people (AND I MEAN THE PEOPLE) DID point specific fingers (taking into consideration the high sensitivity of this topic)... then maybe we might get somewhere no?

Everyone knows and I believe that they do actually target suspects and sites are shut down as they come and go, but unfortunately there are so many sick, twisted perverts out there that they have a more than a full time job getting to the brunt of things!

I say BRAVO to all those involved in irradicating pedophilia from our WORLD and i personally think that it is already a good thing that this has made the headlines BUT unfortunatley not enough people wish to discuss this...

I sadly suppose that some people think and actually believe and will actually debate the fact that the hate/love that they feel for their Gvt/president/religion is much more important than the child that has been physically or sexually abused for all of his/her life?

Balance is the key to everything really. There are few members here that I always take note of their positive attitude when replying to others. Beezer for example. Even when he's in disagreement.

Some of us are a little masochistic and love the gory underworld, myself included. And sometimes we forget to stop and enjoy the scenery.

Thanks for the timely reminder.

Ohhh how i would love to do that job and would more than willingly team up with other individuals to do so...

I believe that the people who do this type of job are fully trained psychologically to deal with the job in hand, so i have no worries for these brave people.

You would have to visually confirm the existence of "That type of porn". I read once that FBI who do that sometime start showing "Pedophilic tendencies". So I guess that means it can warp your mind.

Food for thought. Or maybe its better if you don't think about?

Ohh Sheesh...

Myself too i love the gory underworld so to speak scene... however, like a few of us here, i refuse to wear those damned blinkers

Some people have to wait until there is no more petrol left in the car to stop and enjoy the scenery ... and even then they have to complain because the cell phone will not work smack bang in the middle of the country side
