Addicted to ATS? Hell yeah and I admit it every time.
Too many interesting topics and people for me to stay away for very long. But that's ok, we have Cody leading the ATS obsession group now.

And I take my responsibility very seriously

Yep, and In this post, instead of it linking to everyone... I was so genuinely tempted to link it to just him lol.

As a screen writer, I have ATS exclusively on one of my computers in my office.
A great place for inspiration, ideas, and threads to spin off with for future film treatments and actual scripts.
I wouldn't exactly call it an addiction but it's a damn hard habit to break.

In fact I have contacted members asking for their permission to use their creative ideas in my work.
Anyone that wants to keep their ideas for a script confidential can u2u for an evaluation.
Or if you have a novel or shortstory that you think might work as a film and need it transfered into industry standard script form.....that can be arranged as well. Our production company is at your service from Treatment to finished product for the platform you chose.

How much time do you spend on ATS? Is it an addiction?,

I guess the answer to the question is "All the time" and "perhaps"

How this for a concept....

Husband abandons his family to search for _____ he found in a thread, being an ATS addict. And finds it. Family is killed. uh oh...

Addiction is unhealthy. Nothing that I do here on ATS can be considered such, for the simple reason that using this site has kept my mind sharp and improved various aspects of my mental agility. That said, working in the business in which I work, in the small town in which I live, means that I have moments in my day which I cannot use in a more productive fashion, than to reveiw some things on ATS, and add the odd comment.

Given that my interests and knowledge base are fairly wide ranging, I will end up posting on various different threads and forums throughout a twenty four hour period. I am interested, for instance, in many of the sciences, politics, poetry and writing in general, philosophy, technology and so on. Since I have aquired understanding of many of these subjects over the course of my life, I do not consider it foolish to comment on matters surrounding these topics, when I believe I have something worth contributing. Sometimes I may post in order to gain clarification on a point which interests me, or even better, one with which I am totally unfamiliar.

I would say that on an average day, I might spend four hours actively using the site, but I usually remain logged on during the vast percentage of the day, unless of course I happen to be out for the evening, or working away from the locksmith shop I work in.

When I was younger, still in high school in fact, I had a nick name, The Walking Dictionary, applied to me by total morons of course, evidenced by the fact that they called me by that name, because I knew an awful lot of stuff, which would have made me an encyclopedia, not a dictionary. In all the time previous to gaining that nickname, and all the time since, ATS is the only place which has allowed me an outlet for my knowledge base, or indeed provided an environment which has allowed me to learn more in a setting which I find plesant and interesting. This is not an addiction therefore, rather mere nourishment for the mind, something which despite my stores of knowledge, I have not had the benifit of anywhere else I have ever been.

Edit to add:

I would like to take this oppertunity to thank the ownership, management, the moderators, and every single last member on this site, for being part of ATS, and offering such a wonderful environment for intellectual betterment, as this site provides. I value my mind, and ATS has saved mine from atrophy and starvation. I cannot express my gratitude in expansive enough terms, to truely encompass the depth of my appreciation.

I think I'm more addicted to routine. Three or four times a day I do a ritual of checking email, CNN news, and ATS, in that order. Depending on the new threads I probably spend half my time here following links to other news sites, youtube clips (that lead me to more clips) and music when posted.
