Hope is a Heavy Life Jacket

Hope is a heavy life jacket
wet with fear,
Buoyancy in question,
drowning a possibility.

Waves of unbelief
lifting and sinking,
beneath flailing arms
above the reef.

Adrift in a violent sea,
wind driven froth,
a boiling rolling,
earthquake of water.

The storm rages inside
and the world spins faster.
The waves get higher
and the sky gets darker.

And then almost suddenly,
the sea begins to calm.
The wind becomes a breeze
and the sun comes out .

Once again the wind of life
carries me along.
My journey once in doubt
Is now sure and I can see my destination.

There is a safe harbor,
a place untouched by storms.
A place of peace,
joined arm to arm.

Thanks Doc! I am glad it ended the way it did as well! I feel like my tempest storms come as quickly as they disappear. Sometimes the wind batters us and at other times it delivers us to a safe harbor. I am looking forward to one very big group hug someday and I will not be holding back.

I am doing well! writing, painting, carving, jewelry making, and photography. I have been creating soup recipes and testing them on my son, neighbors and friends. I just made a cold carrot that is very refreshing in the triple digit hot we are having here in Boise, Idaho.
