I am not sure that obsession, or fanaticism is the correct word for my state of mind regarding ATS. I refer to ATS as an oasis, because it offers me
a chance to apply my wits to interesting subject matter, gives me a chance to interact with some truely amazing thinkers, and improve my general
knowledge, all in one place, at the same time.
When one is constantly surrounded by trivialities, it can be difficult to feel as if ones mind is being nourished, nurtured. Things become bland,
life becomes boring, and all importance and meaning gets stripped from everything. However, when one has access to a resource like ATS, one can combat
the tedium, the mundane, and be free to embrace the complexities of the universe for a time.
I do not believe a support group is required, because ATS can have some truely brilliant effects on ones comprehension of the universe, and
therefore, is not in and of itself, a bad thing. Perhaps a support group for general internet addiction would be a good idea?
