Oh, look, more news on diet sweeteners causing harm to health! Who would have guessed? Apparently not the ones who want to add even more sweeteners to food.

Sweeteners in diet drinks 'don't cut your weight' and can be just as harmful as regular versions

a study claims that some drinks containing the ingredient are linked to weight-gain, diabetes and heart disease – with just one can a day said to increase risks of high blood pressure.

The drinks may also double the odds of developing metabolic syndrome – a cluster of symptoms that greatly increase the risk of heart attacks and strokes.

Writing in the journal Trends in Endocrinology and Metabolism, she said: ‘The current public health message to limit the intake of sugar needs to be expanded to limit intake of all sweeteners, not just sugars.’

This is partly a rant. As of now, it will continue to be promoted and added into food and drinks. Why in the heck? Word of warning, be careful of these chemicals!

, agenda as in intentionally making people sick, claimed dumbing down of people, etc. Or simply just greed by industries because it's cheaper and promoted by manufacturers. What ever the case, it's gross. No thanks to chemical taste and body rot. I suspect these studies will be hushed.

Hmm, on one hand we can have hi cal drinks full of hfcs and on the other, aspartame filled diet stuff. It seems as though if it's not water, tea or booze then you can't have it.

Depressing news indeed.

Artificial sweeteners actually boost your glucose intake from foods, when you eat food with carbs and take artificially sweetened drink you get faster high spike to your bloodglucose levels, alone they do not make your bloodglucose higher.

I've gpt a bro-in-law who gurgle down many cans of this chemical concoction every day. He's an angry and cancer filled fella, takes drugs for heart disease and high blood pressure, etc. But he knows the information about this stuff and keeps on drinking it. His other diet choices are as bad as this one. But the odds of changing a family member's mind about what they put into their body are about the same odds as a poodle winning the Kentucky Derby.

But the people that come here are smarter by far. So please, if you consume diet drinks with chemical "substitutes" for sugar, put the can down and run!!!
