I saw this and thought it was a very interesting story. They actually found the plane a while ago and are now going back to see what else can be found.

"As the glacier melts and the glacier moves, more material comes up to the surface," Dr. Gregory Berg, the forensic anthropologist who leads the team of specialists examining the crevasse-ridden ice field, told reporters at a news briefing last week.

I hope that they can some how get the personal items back to the families that they belong to.

Among the personal items collected so far: A tiny fishing kit, a compass, a survival kit, a survival suit, a hockey puck, and a mini-box of Camel cigarettes. Those and other items are being saved for a future memorial, said Doug Beckstead, a historian at Anchorage's Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.

They have also found remains that they will be sending for DNA testing. They say it could take years for all items to make it to the surface.

I watched a docu about ice a few years back, and they mentioned this crash. So its finally found its way out, I expect the relatives will be glad they can put this to bed.
