not to mention Saudi involvement in funding Pakistan's nuclear weapons project and their agreement to supply Saudi Arabia with nuclear weapons within days if requested, and they have nuclear armed cruise missiles, all of this together makes such an attack very possible.

Nope, will not happen, at least not that way. First of all, it is quite convenient to claim a supernatural source, since it cannot be verified. I will not focus on that aspect in my argument. I will focus on what I know, which is how a military operates, and the strengths and weaknesses of various militaries around the globe. You state that a country in the ME will nuke the US. There are some problems with this. First of all, there are not any countries who would be foolish enough to even try such a thing, even IF Israel attacked Iran.

Iran does NOT have a nuclear arsenal. Let me start by explaining how a military attack with nuclear weapons would unfold. First of all, there are large scale nuclear missiles, and tactical nuclear missiles. Tactical nukes are smaller, and are used mainly on the battlefield. A nuclear missile designed to strike an entire city is rather large, and these types of missiles will NOT be launched one at a time. There would probably be about 4 dozen missiles launched at strategic locations if a nuclear nation were attacking the US. This is also how the US and Russia would do it. This is exactly what they tell those who track potential incoming missiles as well.

A single false alarm is not going to be a nuclear missile. But if there were dozens of incoming missiles, or even unidentified signatures, that would look more like a nuclear attack. There are few countries in the world who could launch such an attack on the US, and none of them are in the ME. Israel could launch an attack on the US, but they wouldn't, simply because without the US Israel would lose the majority of its military support. It could not survive a war with the US.

And another huge factor that would come into play is the fact that the missile defense shield present in the US is capable of taking out somewhere around a few dozen missiles before being overloaded. And that is only what we know about. Bush initiated a new system, but it is classified. I think it was Bush, although I cannot be certain.

So for ANY nation to succeed in a nuclear attack on the US, they would have to launch a large number of missiles. There are virtually only a handful of nations capable of this. India, Russia, etc...Iran CANNOT do it. They don't have a nuclear arsenal. Pakistan does however. But it is small. So your information might fool someone who knows nothing about such matters, but it will not fool someone who knows a little bit about how war, especially nuclear war, is waged.

I will give a brief list of nuclear nations, with the approximate number of warheads they posses.

USA: 2500 active, 8000 total
Russia: 2000 active, 8500 total
UK: 150 active 250-300 total
France: 300 missiles, most of which are active
China: ??? (probably not many) active, 200-300 total
India: ??? active, 100 total
Pakistan: ??? active, a couple of hundred total
North Korea: Probably zero active, about a dozen total
Israel: ??? active, 100 total

So look at that list, which is fairly accurate, and realize that there are not many nations capable of succeeding in a nuclear attack against the US. And out of those countries, who would attack the US to begin with? And most of those countries for which we don't know the number of active warheads, there probably are either none or very few.

Oh and the reason I brought up Texas in the beginning is due to it's size, did you realize you could fit every single human being that is living in the state of Texas and still have room for more. It's that large. The force would have to be insanely massive to invade all of those countries and create any real world wide destruction. Not to mention that probably 90%+ of Texas own guns and know how to use them. Let alone the rest of the south that are gun loving Americans with hunting skills to rival the worlds best shooters. This is a ludicrous vision. Good Day!

have you ever been to texas? much of the north west, as I drove through as a child on family vacation as far as I can remember, is a wasteland.

sure, you could fit all the people there, but as far as logistically living there, it would be disastrous.

From an official and public standpoint, Saudi Arabia has been an opponent of nuclear weapons in the Middle East, having signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, and is a member of the coalition of countries demanding a Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone in the Middle East.] Studies of nuclear proliferation have not identified Saudi Arabia as a country of concern.

They do not have them yet as soon as Iran has them they will get them and have no doubt that they will get them...
In part this is why Israel has been sabotaging any other nuclear program in the region, in fact the Saudis have been lead by the nose to depend on the US for security and remain almost an hostage nation of the Anglo-American interests due to this type of geopolitical game (this is an oversimplification but the core of the issues on the region).

That is a bit racial since it applies to all mankind today. It is a social problem, I grant you that until the end of WW2 the Western civilization had a technological superiority that required of them a greater moral and historical responsibility but since then with the rapid globalization and general access to education and information it is simply no longer true, especially when we observe indigenous people voluntarily discarding their own cultural background and trading it for the worst Western values (not all Westerns share the same values it is just easier to generalize isn't it ?).

This is yet another Red Dawn inspired thread that turns up on ATS every so often.
People talking about a successful ground based invasion of the mainland US need to realize it's essentially tactically impossible. Those people usually start off with something like:

"an invading force moves the thousands of troops and supply infrastructure across either coast and establish a beach head because the America military didnt see the coming" . That or "an enemy nation uses an EMP that knocks out every defense system everywhere in America within a few minutes:

Yes their could be successful non-conventional attacks but an actual boots on the ground campaign succeeding is about as likely as Kate Upton showing up at my door right now and covering me in caramel while singing an Opeth song. Their are multiple reasons the most obvious being overall geographic size or bodies of water on 2.5 coasts. An allied nation to the north. Half a southern border that could be turned into a wasteland with a few tactical nukes. I could keep going but it's really just a plot for a bad movie.

Again you want to tell me that a terrorist, domestic/foreign/false flag, could happen in a major city that's something that is a possibility. Their is 100% no logical argument that anyone can come up with for a successful ground based campaign here. As much as that disappoints some people on ATS.

Nuclear war is the LEAST of our worries. Why say "nuclear war!" when biological...which would leave the buildings standing up but all the people dead, and an "EMP pulse" bomb would leave us fighting ourselves to survive-neighbor against neighbor...killing each other for "gimme what you got-water-food whatever"......is far worse? Nuclear war is tame by comparison to what the real war would produce.

maybe so but the possibility remains regardless of whether it will happen or not, in this world you never know what might cause great changes within and embolden a nation or nations to war against another.

I think the OP has been riding the Spirit Roller Coaster the last couple of years, like another poster in this thread.
