i watch the earthquake monitor on rense almost daily and i notice recently there has been an increase of such activity just north of new guinea in the new britain, new ireland region. in january of this year the volcano close to raubal on new britain rumbled back into life after being quiet since a massive eruption in 2008.
yesterday on new ireland there was a 7.2 and perhaps this is a precursor to serious volcanic activity in the area.

Are you aware that there is an ongoing earthquake thread on ATS? You can find discussion of this particular quake here or the page before. Not trying to lessen your thread here, but if you want to discuss it with like-minded people, you might like to try it out.

All the best. Quakes anywhere can be worrisome, but a 7.3 is spooky.
