Having lived in SD, this video doesn;t do the night sky justice. There were nights I lost count of the shooting stars I was counting.

I see it all the time where I live. If more people could see the milky way, I think it would be a different planet.

The night sky from a truly dark location is breath taking
Here is a shot I took in Sedona , AZ last month..No processing applied as this pretty represents what I was looking at..you feel so small looking up..

That was what it was like in Alaska, no light pollution so you could see everything!

It is an incredible experience and most people have no idea what they are missing with the nights sky.
