Caught this story last week and thought it was very cool.

Were those wings rolling down Loop 820?

FORT WORTH — It has gone by names like “Dorito” and “UFO.” And for a long while, its future was in peril. But thanks to some North Texas aircraft fanatics and aviation old-timers, the mock-up of the A-12A Avenger Stealth Fighter — developed by General Dynamics in Fort Worth but never built — is expected to emerge with a fresh coat of paint at the B-36 Peacemaker Museum near Meacham Airport.

I would have put a tarp over it just to get people talking

Well crap! I just came down that road yesterday. Why couldn't they have waited a few days!

Haha, will have to keep an eye on the UFO threads for the old "military driving flying saucer down the highway" lol

Pretty cool news. I haven't heard this thing ever since 1990. The Models and the Arists impression were the only things for the ATF program. The A-12 suffered from delays and cost. But I wonder how did people react or the Aviation enthusiast. But pretty cool news. I wish they had just flown it once, it was really the tiniest RCS of any fighter aircraft.

Which is why the A-12 is a "Flying Dorito"
