Signatures

Topic started on 15-5-2003 @ 09:01 AM by John bull 1

I know it is not my place to say this but because some of the signatures are so long now I'm having difficulty telling what is a signature and what is part of the post.
I'm finding it really off putting.

And to think I was initially worried about the length of my signature.

I'm sure there are guidelines written down somewhere.
Or are they no longer applicable?

JB, I totally agree. I have my signatue in yellow which helps distinguish it from the post. Maybe members with excessively long signatures should do the same.

I completely agree with you. I'm new to all this anyway and wondered what on earth they all meant to begin with.....

Some of them are very good, but far too long... Like an extra message!!

I'd just like point out that I am not singling anyone out.
I'm just reminding posters of the rules.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

I don't want to fall out with anybody over this.

It would help tremendously if there were a line above the sig area(like there used to be) I do notice some members have a pale white line marking where their signature is, but most don't-

Exactly!
I always thought that was the idea. Although a few signatures have some very outlandish content as well as the enduring length. I've read a few threads on this already, and its fine to let loose time to time you'll get used to it.

Since we are on about signatures, do java images work?

I have seen countless posts where someones sig is twice as big as what they posted, also can be confusing as mentioned with some not having the divider line.

Totally agree, although i'd be less concerned about length of signatures if there was a divider line between posts and signature. It's definately confusing.

William, is there any way this could rectified? I've noticed it only happens on the posts with the light grey background, but it'd be great if there was a more defintive divider line on the darker grey backgrounds aswell.

Some of these signatures look like chapters in novels.
