That being said, the whole bohemian grove thing is objectively bizarre. Why "the cremation of care"? Why such scary costumes and ancient regalia?
The huffing and puffing of the audience? This is all very Dionysian - and for a Republican getaway to boot, for people who for the most part outwardly
present themselves as Christians, it's disconcerting that they could be so secretive about their true beliefs.
But, a "cremation of care", does not necessarily imply a group who altogether hates care. Sometimes, for some people, they want to throw all their
cares away; and maybe a bohemian grove mid-summer retreat helps them do that? Even if it is done with pomp and a seemingly authentic occultic verve.
