One of my past home projects was modifiying a satellite modem device driver to patch my laptop into the French mobile phone network using a PAYG sim card Parents thought DSL was "too expensive" and bemoaned the day when AOL dropped dial-up modem pools.

A number of the jobs below the stripper job still rotates through as I stay very busy in the film industry. It's the perfect industry for me and it pays very well. The stripping gigs have been pretty sparse lately though. Haha.
Now, the greatest job ever has been being a dad to my beautiful children and a husband to my lovely wife for the last couple of decades.
It's been a hoot and I am so happy I didn't waste four years in college.

Chip boy...aka potato peeler.
Pallet designer and destroyer.
Sod layer, retaining wall,paved drives and little walkways.
Trim carpenter....during a winter.
CNC operator...then programer.
Kid's...hardest part so far.

I may be induced to pound out and heat treat a new hammer for the old
.60 cal. Brown Bess, but I get neauseous just looking at anything as
involved as an M4 or 16. I guess you can forget about me after the cataclysm....
but working my way slowly up the ladder 'twas the trip that counts. Would
have been nice as well if rungs above and below weren't suddenly removed...

Have a Bach in Psychology, Culinary arts, Field engineering and never found good pay then what I can make in six months of construction. Mind you that I live in Alaska. I'm so ready for a different country. I feel my colors running down the drain. USA is a #hole in my opinion. 33 years in sick of it

I'd go back to school but my interests rates are so high with Wells Fargo that I don't think I will pay off my bill at 300$ a month in the next 30 years........ Will I even live that much longer????

Quit....they tried to railroad a guy, and deny his workmans comp, and fire him, after one of the japanese mold techs ( always drunk at work, quite pathetic really) lowered a 60 ton mold onto the tech that was under it cleaning a clogged injector port ( that the same japenese tech let get clogged by not properly purging the day before, so the plastic cooled and clogged the port).

Bent the guys hand backwards until it touched his forearm, about an inch from crushing him to death, he had bruises on his face and chest from the mold stopping on top of him.

The owner, also japanese, dropped a 100 ton mold and broke it, (about $100million US) and tried to blame us, even though the overhead crane was only rated to lift 60 tons, and we told him not to, and refused to do it ourselves.

So he just hooked it up and broke the main lifting cables, trashed the entire wench gear box, and bend one of the arms. Pretty cool to watch since nobody got hurt, fell about 30 feet, broke through the 12 inch concrete floor, was like somthing out of a movie.

LOL, well you see, you bring in your girl and we.....

Ok for real though, it is an oil and lube center, that also does tire rotations hose and belt installs and other basic car care needs work.

Nothing actually fun, like brakes or engines or transmission work, just mostly stuff alot of folks do themselves, Jiff Lube just does it fast for 3 times as much as it would cost you to do it yourself.

Not a bad gig really, was kinda enjoyable, but the owner was a douche, if not for him, I would have stuck around alot longer.
