Well we really cant say that so much anymore with the rise of the female historian. They are everywhere writing books, on t.v. ect ect ect college professors even. It looks like half the history written these days is by females.

So do we have to call it "Herstory" now???

Kinda Like "Personhole cover instead of Manhole cover" or "Pussytionary" instead of "Dictionary"??

A sympathetic and propagandistic explanation of some of the major conspiracy has been laid out by the famous H.G. Wells back in the 1930's in several books--The Open Conspiracy, How Should We Live Our Lives, and The New World Order.

Of course he had either been mislead by TPTB, was their willing agent, or was one of their number.

And it is possible, given his prophetic foresight into scientific achievement of the nest 70 years displayed in his fictional works, that he was an advanced being, and part of the controllers. His works of the Outline of History, encyclopedic Scientific corpus, and volumes on the Work, Wealth, and Happiness of Mankind make him singular, IMO, for polymath status.

That was my point. That history is written by the winners.

That is a good point. And if we give to much credence to false conspiraciers we could be giving power to some who
really don't have it and don't deserve it. One might wonder how many Freemasons enjoy being accused of controlling the world because of the popularity of this conspiracy. As far as the bankers and money the obvious influence that power and money has is incontestable but it is not absolute. On the other hand we could easily see
how Eric Snowden thought {in his mind} that he was exposing a conspiracy of intelligence {ie. intelligence agencies}
to one day exert control by manipulation of data.- more dangerous; but this too may be no more than
conspiracy paranoia - What is the truth? To where do conspracies really leed? Does it end up like Orwell's '1984'
with a central overiding conspiracy in control?

That is the "theme" of his book. Thing is he wrote it about his experiences in the Soviet Union. What better role model than the real thing? I would also like to add that even though each side says its better there really is no difference between them in the end.

The ideology might be lofty but the actual practice is hijacked and corrupted at the top. Whomever is at the top of Socialism or Capitalism usurps the power and wealth for themselves, eventually.

Thats why the Founding fathers recommended revolt every hundred years or so just for good measure. To clean out he corruption and refresh the system. Thats why elections, no life time appointments, three branches, etc.

So to answer your question, yes we are deeper than ever in the secret controlling from behind the scenes government.

I couldn't agree more!!

Makes sense why it's "His-Story" now doesn't it. But just who "He" is that is telling it makes a big difference.

Today the call it "New" story or news-story, in short, the News. Thats who is retelling history. Plus schools churches, TV, Movies.

H.G. Wells, yes I've come across his name amongst conspiracy theorists. There are other big names that could be sited. Many theories, many conspiracy theorists. I had a friend who was obsessed with the belief that the Masons were the main conspirators and all other groups of conspirators were under their command. I've yet to see proof of this and still wonder if there is one group who pulls all the strings.

Some years ago a lawyer writing under a pseudonym wrote a book called "The Gods of Eden" where after reviewing all of your major conspiracies fairly accurately concluded that the major reason no one group of conspirators takes control is that 'aliens' {ie. Greys & Reptilians} are battling for control and mankind is in the middle of the struggle . As ridiculous as this may sound to some, it is very similar to the old religious battle between Devils and Angels. And The truth? - What is the truth? - Is there a truth? Or is it yet to be written? by whoever wins.

I've requested a History Forum on ATS for a while, because I think there's a gap in the forums between very ancient history and current affairs.

In more contemporary historiography there was a major change between studying the achievements of "great men and women" (history from the top, usually royalty) to studying it more from the experience of the common man or woman (social history).

Of course, history will look more conspiratorial from either position towards the other, even without dwelling on specifically disputed events or "revisionism".

Who writes history and has access to the discourse of history is also very important.
Perhaps the explosion of conspiracy theory is itself symptomatic of a mistrust in the production of history, and the theories through which we view the past, and also the popular ways we interpret the past through current film and media.

Significantly through the Internet we also have access to far more interpretations of the past, and certainly through the 1990s, even professors couldn't find some information as easily as it is now.
Not all that information is of equal value however, and it's also easy to be unduly influenced into fairly extreme positions these days through false, or unproven information and interpretations.

The age of the historical specialist, or "real academic", is threatened in a sense, which is sad, because the "general intellectual" (some knowledge of broad subjects) is hardly as reliable for real evaluations.

We must remember that conspiracy theorists question almost all history - questioning the standard academic
interpretations and believing that almost all standard histories are missing the 'truth'. For example the friend I
mentioned who was obsessed with the Freemasons are responsible paradigm did not believe in the validity of
the history of the American Revolution -- to him the American Revolution was a battle between two opposing
Masonic sects for power and the Constitution, Bill of Rights, etc. where just written as afterthoughts. He is no
longer a friend of mine.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. -Thomas Jefferson

And then again maybe we should ask, could it be the conspirators themselves who are advocating conspiracy
theories in a veiled attempt to gain power through conspiracy? The great lie reprinted often enough so that
people begin to believe it.

For example 'the Big Lie" famously used by the Nazis while blaming the Jews for doing the same:

The phrase was also used in a report prepared during the war by the United States Office of Strategic Services in describing Hitler's psychological profile:

His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.

If a conspiratorial group were to achieve control over a nation, or region, or world--what would we expect them to absolutely make every effort to do to maintain their position?

They would need to have:

1) Control of the issuance of money (especially if they are not audited by any Gov't)
2) Control of the Media, for propaganda/"education" purposes
3) Control of the Universities (through financial "gifts", "chairs", etc)
4) Ensure placing their people in all high positions within the Executive branch of Gov'ts
5) Buy up all Publishing Houses for educational text books
6) Eliminate their actions from the history texts, and make their group seem always to be innocent by-standers.
7) Ensure that their children are actively sought by the controlled Universities.
8) Do all they could to destroy any culture or racial group that had defeated them in the past.
9) Ensure their control of the Means of Production of most foods and manufactured goods through Corporate ownership

Does this describe any particular group in today's world?

It does, and the answer to your question is that these Conspirators control what is allowed to be published in mainstream textbooks.

There is little in history that we can not find the 'truth' about, whatever that 'truth' is which we seek. Having said that, the history which is openly taught can be considered as mostly false and biased and so, not something I would consider 'scientific' history. Even in the hard sciences like archaeology we find many people who willingly use peoples ignorance of 'true' history as a means to promote information they know is false. People call this sort of thing 'misinformation' which is I suppose an accurate label for the action. I cannot be sure at this moment whether there is a single cabal, many cabals or any cabals involved in this action, but if you look at the consistency with which history has been modified it looks quite clear that there is some thing or some one which is leading the information in a certain direction in favour of others. This, in itself is not, I believe, a bad thing, but it is unfavourable to our own development if we do not at least try to understand the other ways of perceiving such and such (that being whatever you can understand).

It might also be hypothesized that history appears to be run by conspiracies because there is a conspiracy
actually controlling its direction and meaning and that that conspiracy can not be fully comprehended because we are living in it and are part of it.

Or, one might also conclude that Nietzsche was right and it all a power struggle - all conspiracy is part of the will to power.
