Thirteen Fire Officers injured. Many people have been saying that this practice was a disaster waiting to happen and early evidence says it has now.
Other incidents have already happened on agricultural land and the campaign to ban the releasing of Chinese lanterns is gathering momentum. Of course
they are beautiful and have a cultural and spiritual significance but if they are dangerous should they be banned?.
I agree with what you say and incidents of injury to livestock are well documented. The arguments that I presented are not my own but I suspect that
they may be trotted out in defence of this dangerous public nuisance.
