When gods compete for your worship, you win!
I'd hold out for which ever god can promise me the most perks to following them and go with it. Why be a atheist when you can get some perks out of worshipping?

Ok, My first prayer!!

A Single Man’s Prayer to Hera

Divine Hera Akraia
Wedded Hera Gamelia
Worthy Hera Teleia
O Hera, Led as a Bride
Majestic Hera of the Peacock
By whatever name you wish to be called!

Ever mindful, watchful over marriage,
hear and take heed of this, my request.

Examine my heart and my deeds,
see if I am fit to be a husband
and if if another is fit to be my wife.

Guide me safely to and from
that I not marry unwisely, but well.

And if I become a husband,
bless me with fitness and success,
and with a wife whose heart and deeds
are touched by you,
that we may look after one another
wisely and well.

I'm going to keep my Goddess happy!

and a song.

To Hera

Oh! Great Goddess, raised above all others,
Queen of the Heavens and Earth.
Cow-eyed Hera, faithful wife,
Most beautiful amongst the goddesses.
Harsh is your vengeance
But soft is your love.
Dignified Queen of wind and cloud,
Sending sweet breath or crashing tempest;
Nature knows your compassion and rage.
Heavenly Hera, blessor of marriage,
Accept my prayer
And shed your beauty upon these rites.

However, there is a huge amount of metaphor in them as well for inner processes.

Talk About Metaphor!!

IN The Form of Flight! Not Necessarily having wings ( but known to Fly in the Sky! )

The View from an Era that sees Fiery Chariots & Shields in the SKY
and see who PILOTS THEM!! or Coming out of them

Let say Earth was Mass Destruction Extinction and only 1 percent of Humans out of Billions Survived !
and the Ones that Survived Were Children just barley knowing the Basics of Education
Resulting ( Lost Technology ) but a Few Books of History existed an Languages

Then over say thousands of Years...

Honestly, I feel that there would be only one God if that were the case..As humans we are bound to false boundaries and segregation.

However, if those many Gods that separated groups of humans created were alive walking around with us, it would be absolute CHAOS.

Many think it is bad now with all the righteous wars and what have you. Imagine if those all powerful beings were on the front lines with us fighting for control over a primitive species.

Then again I may be wrong; I suppose it is one of those things we would have to wait for and see.

There are many gods but only One God.

Lets let all the gods fight it out and the one who wins, wins. LMAO!

But the post stated that 'if' all gods were real. Why do you persist on proving the validity of the existence? All I did was answer the question.

PS. just so you know, what u said aint true. You are mixing up many historical facts and concluding things and running way in over your head. I happen to know your wrong!

Or they destroy you so no one else can have you. There's millions more people they can squeeze after you're gone.

I once read a book about that. I think it may have been Terry Prachett, but I don't remember now. The whole premise of the book was about a couple choosing a god to follow. All of the different gods would have advertisements on TV to recruit followers. It was a pretty great book and had some hilarious moments. One of the Couple's friends was a woman who would only date gods.

Looking for that book I came upon this from Terry Pratchett...

On 8 June 2008, news reports indicated that Pratchett had an experience, which he described as: "It is just possible that once you have got past all the gods that we have created with big beards and many human traits, just beyond all that, on the other side of physics, there just may be the ordered structure from which everything flows" and "I don't actually believe in anyone who could have put that in my head".[53][54] He went into further detail on Front Row, in which he was asked if this was a shift in his beliefs: "A shift in me in the sense I heard my father talk to me when I was in the garden one day. But I'm absolutely certain that what I heard was my memories of my father. An engram, or something in my head...This is not about God, but somewhere around there is where gods come from."[55]

I'd choose Thoth. All day and everyday.

There's no telling what you'd run across and best yet, if you run across something to nasty or about to, he'll be there to let you know.

This has got to be one of the more interesting threads i've read on here.

I don't know who I would pick....seems really hard to pick just one, like having a handful of skittles in one hand and one lonely one in the other, hmm choices, choices. I'd like to know them all.

I'd ask the ones i've always favored....Odin, Venus, Thoth, Xuan Wu to sit to down to a game of poker with me. I always say "if you want to know just who someone is.....play a game of poker with them". You can tell a lot about people (I imagine gods too) by the way they play poker, would be very interesting game i'm sure.

Would I get my answer then.....maybe?

Neat Thread!
