TA-ANALYSIS: U.S. unprepared despite progress

Despite progress experts say that the U.S. is still unprepared to defend against biological terror attacks. Though it is said that there is no other area where the current administration has made more progress, the U.S. still has a long way to go in regards to defending against bioterrorism.



Officials say that the great majority of U.S. hospitals and
health facilities would be greatly overwhelmed trying to vaccinate after a bioterrorism attack and due to having to wrestle with budget cutbacks and day to day health issues the current medical industry simply cannot comply with the demands.

It is ridiculous to think that we could provide a hospital bed for each and every citizen in America that required it in the event of a large scale biological attack. The logistics of this occurence just don't compute. We shouldn't expect to have 100 million hospital beds available in the USA - that's an unreasonable expectation.

That's why we emphasize the containment of WMDs by sane countries and we attack unstable countries that threaten biological warfare *before it happens*.

This news story is not exactly shocking.

Hmmm, just another news story to keep you afraid, very afraid. Doubles as a seeder story to lead into a biowarfare attack in the future, maybe a Ricin attack from the 'terrorist cropduster' stolen in Mexico on Nov. 1.

This is very true and even with the best laid plans in place the mass public hysteria from any such attack wld be devastating, this is where all emergency plans for such an event will fail, public=panic

A lot of things the US is unprepared for.

1. Employees forming unions at EVERY company and demanding an
increase in minimum wage to $10 per hour.

2. EVERYONE going down to Mexico to buy
their prescription drugs cheap.

3. EVERY female who feels like it taking off her blouse and
going topless when ever she feels like it (Truely the end of
patriarch run civilization as we know it..)

4. Marching on Washington and throwing the bums out.

5. Limiting CEO salaries, especially at companies losing money.

6. Everybody wearing a pistol.. thus much less crime, and a reduction
of police to a fraction their present number.

7. Term limits for politicians

8. All political candidates get 1 hour on TV to state why they should be
elected. No exceptions, no other advertising, no fund raising. Their
voting records should be posted for all to read. No corporation money,
no "soft" money, NO MORE # from the assholes.

9. End the "drug" war. Tax recreational drugs, provide help for addicts.
Legalize them and eliminate major source of funds raised by the selling
of illegal drugs on black market, and used for other criminal activity.

You have more chance being struck by lightening than being killed
in a "terrorist" attack. Of drowning in your bathtub, of tripping over your
own two feet and hitting your head when falling down killing yourself.

Get real people.

Fear causes panic. So, you educate the population, reducing fear, and reduce panic. Why do you think soldiers don't panic and haul ass when they go into battle. If you weren't a soldier and ended up on the front lines you'd freak out. Training reduces panic, so it's an obvious way to help cope with a possible emergency situation.
