CLEARLY, written by someone with an obvious right lean, so you can see why it was attributed to Jeff Foxworthy.

I like the idea, but it coulda been done a LOT better.

False: This is a bit too simplistic and naive. Quantitative easing is misunderstood and was never about debt reduction, but it also was overdone. Things would be much worse without it, and jury is still out as to whether or not it only just caused a postponement of bad. 50/50 on this one on the unknown success of QE, but it was never intended to reduce debt.



If a seven-year-old boy can be thrown out of school for saying his teacher is “cute,” but hosting a sexual exploration or diversity class in grade school is perfectly acceptable — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

And the founding fathers were believers in social programs, it's clear: "We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America." Also, once one becomes successful, it's reasonable (in a "perfect" scenario) to expect to pay higher taxes to support the infrastructure that provides for success.



If the government’s plan for getting people back to work is to provide incentives for not working, by granting 99 weeks of unemployment checks, without any requirement to prove that gainful employment was diligently sought, but couldn’t be found — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

False: The increase in extended unemployment was a factor of available jobs and private....

I really wish this thread had been deleted without comment.

No matter where/how it ends, I always think that conversation over something likes this is more important than no conversation.

I was pulling of my recollection of coverage in Forbes and WSJ at the time, and how the CBO was using jobs data (new job creation) to determine if the extensions should be granted, and for how long. It's not inconceivable that other politicians would twist this into verbal pabulum that placates their constituents.



but there are serious scholars on both the Left and the Right who believe we need a more progressive or conservative government, not one more in the middle. I'm surprised that you seem to want to shut off speculation that those scholars might be right.

The last politician I ever respected and admired was Daniel Patric Moynihan. He had very different views, as do others that attempt not to adopt a political dogma.



The problem was there was no embellishment, it was boring.

Not sure I'd categorize his budget as much of anything... they all focus on the wrong solutions.

But then, it's the polluted environment that we (collectively) allowed to happen that prevents serious/sane hyperbole-free ideas from getting traction -- isn't it?



This is a side of you I didn't expect.

I got lots of sides.

If America was founded by geniuses and its run by idiots what does that make the people( who let themselves be divided on race, gender and wealth) who have been governed by these so called idiots for some time now?
Not revolutionary & not free as the writer of this piece would say -slaves of these idiots in the home of the brave and land of the free.

It's always been out of control. Pretty much since the creation of the Secret Service in 1865.

But now, some people are starting to realize it. Hopefully the awareness extends to how long it's been out of control, and it doesn't matter what nameplates are on the West Wing doors, it's always the same.

That would make them the idiots that keep electing the same idiots and then wonder why nothing changes. I think that a big part of our problem is that the majority of the voters in the US are severely under educated in how our government is supposed to work and what it is actually empowered to do under the Constitution.

Add to that the fact that a large majority of those people are incapable of any form of linear thinking of their own so therefore they sit back and believe anything that their favorite political figure says. They never question and without questioning anything there can be no truth, only indoctrination.

Actually voting worked great in this country for 100+ years, until corruption took over the system. Voting can work again but you cant have those that are on the ballot in charge of counting and administering the votes. Its not that people who believe in voting are idiots, its that people who expect a corrupt system to police itself and fix itself are idiots.

That would make them believers not knowers.

As the site moderator said(and you can bank on it) its the same people & forces behind these idiotic corporate puppets since before the illusion of democracy was born and used for control(power and wealth).
We have more educated people in the world now than ever before so under education is not the problem.
The American people, most now know how the govt is suppose to work, have become fearful or/and accepted its corruption and lies as truth.

There are many stories of intense occurrences of multiple votes from the same person, immigrants not qualified to vote voting, ballot tampering, polling place blocking, and much more... going all the way back to the 1800's. The most intense voter fraud was in NYC, Chicago, Boston, and just about every frontier town you can name.

Seriously, it was really bad, especially for local elections.

Education is worthless when the education a person receives is wrong. He who knows nothing is closer to the truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors. Sure we have a lot of educated people today however very few of them as I said in my prior post have a clue as to how or government is meant to work. How can "educated" people that don't even know what form of government they live under make any kind of rational and logical decision when it comes to voting for a representative? They cannot and therefore the people are totally to blame for the state of our nation through their uneducated voting.
