www.cnn.com...

The article says that one of the companies that bought out the bankrupt Hostess Co. will be remaking and selling the twinkies do to American demand, the price is to stay the same @ 3.99 per box. I can not help but wonder if this was all a marketing ploy to sell more twinkies by holding them back a while and then selling them once again...hmmm a possible twinky conspiracy...

I had not thought of that...I am sure there were lots of wharehouses full of those cakes and since they are said to age well then we could never be certain whether we are eating new twinky's or circa 1950 twinky's.

Not really a conspiracy.

I don't like the things myself, but, there are those who do.

I did notice that after the announcement that they were going out of business, all kinds of generic versions of Twinkies were popping up all over the place as well as King Dongs.

I would say that the demand was definitely there and still is.

The only problem now is that now there is some serious competition. They don't have the corner on the market anymore. Although I am sure that there are still Die Hard Twinkie fans out there.

They freshness is guaranteed so I don't suspect that you will be getting 50 year old Twinkies.

If you look at the box you will find a date stamp.

They take their Twinkies pretty seriously.

I was just joking about them selling the circa 1950's twinky...but yes there will be a little competition, I wonder if those folks feel ripped off that bought twinky's on E-Bay for 50 bucks a box

Hooray? I have to say regardless of how fresh they are they did not taste anything like the Twinkies I ate when I was younger...Somewhere along the lines Twinkie changed their recipe...hope this new company reverts back to the old one...

I don't eat a lot of snack cakes, but I have been craving a Twinkie, so I guess I'll enjoy one on the 15th.

I went to the store the other and and happened across these:

Don't understand the big deal about no twinkies- but I'm not much of a sweets person as is.

But wouldn't that make a decent substitute?

I have to agree with Boymonkey. Twinkies are disgusting...

Never liked them and never will. Glad to hear twinky fans get their food back tjough, I'd be heartbroken if Willy Wonka quit making candy...
