There have been a number of threads on this video. I made one myself a couple of months ago which commented on it somewhere near the end.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Here is what I found out about the Disney video

In 2011 after the video was made available via Youtube Robbie Graham interviewed the writer of the documentary Andrew Thomas. Thomas had a background in reality shows like Cops and also worked as head of special marketing on Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind. He told Graham that Disney had wanted a TV special about the history of UFO sightings with the last five minutes focusing on the ride. The TV special was to be "seeded” into independent television stations across the country. Thomas claims that he wrote the script over a few hours with no government intervention. His only source material being document archives. Even the meteorite story came from NASA information available on the internet. However Andrew Thomas did find it strange that Michael Eisner, the CEO of Disney at the time, personally filmed an introduction and vetted large parts of the documentary. This is despite the fact that he had considered it a minor marketing project. The film was shown just once and broadcast between 2pm and 3pm in the afternoon when hardly anyone was watching.

Whatever it was made for it does seem odd that if it was marketing film then why do only the last 5 minutes promote Disney's ExtraTerrorestrial Theme Park feature.

Strange.

It was just a promotion for the new Disney ride Alien Encounter. That's why it was never shown again.

I concur. In the first few minutes I heard the narrator promote Disney's new Tomorrow Land in Orlando.

Correct. It was an advertisement for the ride "Alien Encounters" at Disneylands' "Tomorrowland", and the title of the TV show even included that in the name. The TV special was officially called Alien Encounters from New Tomorrowland.

This film was also shown while waiting in line for that ride.

Wow. This is like watching a very entertaining version of the "Citizen's Hearing on UFOs" information from earlier this year.

And now Disney is preparing people for their "Inevitable Alien Encounter."

Plus - there is some footage in this I've never seen before, which is interesting, though I would qualify that by saying there is probably a ton of things I don't know. I'm about half-way through the video - it is kind of surreal, as I used to watch Disney as a kid and this is exactly like one of their "specials" - imagine seeing this as a kid!

Just getting to the part about abductions. This is interesting. Disney was, according to some sources I've heard, part of the military cover-up and ridicule effort - it makes me wonder how much of an "agenda" is being spun out here.

Still. A really great find, OP!

peace,
AB

Hopefully Disney copyright strike ADG and shut down his sorry ass of a channel.
He was shut down last year for copyright, which means he probably has 2 strikes on his account still.
That ADG flashing logo is easily one of the most annoying things I've seen. It's enough to make even a non-epileptic like me wonder if I'm going to have a seizure, or maybe just want to puke.

If that isn't bad enough, it starts out with three hoaxes, and promotes the tomorrowland exhibit numerous times. But for something to play while you're waiting in line for the Alien Encounters exhibit at Disney, it's about what I'd expect...that's probably all it's good for, without the flashing ADG logo that is.

Anyone interested in the links between Disney and the CIA?

I'm not going to spoon-feed you.

Go and research it yourself.

Thanks for the post but there's nothing in this video iv not seen before. I think its just Walt Disney jumping on the UFO bandwagon

You've seen it before because it is not new. There was a thread featuring this video a couple of years ago here on ATS (www.abovetopsecret.com...), and a thread back in 2008 (but the video link no longer works in the 2008 thread (www.abovetopsecret.com...).

This TV show is from the "Wonderful World of Disney", which aired on Sunday evenings here in the US. This particular episode (introduced by Michael Eisner, and narrated by Robert Urich) aired on TV in 1995.

I was on a short break at work and attempted twice to use the search but the Samaru search engine is blocked at work citing it's a porn search engine
.. and I'm serious.. so it was a hasty post I had to accomplish in 5 mins..

anyways.. I thought I was interesting video that Walt Disney had aired such a controversial subject, most of us has either heard or seen most of the stories, if not all; but, I thought I might be good to see if WD would come up with tidbits that might have been hidden or we've either forgotten or missed from days long ago.

The governments of the world cannot :

a) Keep thier telecoms intercepts secret.
b) Keep acceptable levels of employment throughout thier nations.
c) Keep track of thier accounts properly.
d) Prevent thier own data security from being circumvented by other intelligence services.
e) Keep sexual predators off the streets and away from potential targets.
f) Hold elections without propegandising.
g) Keep the wool over enough eyes at once on enough subjects to attain the level of witlessness that they would love to install in the minds of all people.

And a whole bunch of other things they try and fail to do on a constant basis. What the hell makes you think they would be remotely capable of comming up with a cover up SO comprehensive that NO ONE has ever broken the security corden around such an event, and managed to aquire some solid , physical evidence, of a type which could be pored over by forensic science?

I find that harder to buy than the concept of alien visitation itself. Governments are universally incapable of organising a booze up in a brewery, let alone the sort of coverage that would prevent interested parties arriving on a scene before they do.

First off, most of those things you listed are irrelevant. People in power prioritize themselves first, and just keep the people happy enough to not rebel and overthrow them. Citing things like propaganda in elections and not keeping sexual predators off the street really has nothing to do with the competence of a government to keep secrets. The people in charge of those things are not in charge of secrecy and national security.

Second, it's very arrogant to think we already know all of the governments secrets. Maybe the many that have been spilled already are just the tip of the iceberg.
In addition, so many ex-military and government officials have spilled the beans on the reality of UFOs and ET visitors that it's ridiculous. Even death-bed confessions are ignored. It's the easiest secret in the world to keep because no one believes it. Just throw in the ridicule factor and get the media to not cover these things and the story covers itself up.

Meanwhile, you're waiting for some whistleblower to sneak a flying saucer out of a top secret base.

Thx you Damsel !

Well said & I completely agree with you~!

Question:

Did you rage quit, or did you bored quit?

Ha! That's good.
I didn't watch the video, but if a had, I would have rage-quit when I figured out it was an advertisement.

I think the advert for kitchen paper at the beginning was a give away for me. Its like when you get drunk while watching television, and you channel scan for a bit, and accidentally end up in the section which is all informative commercials.

Honest to Christ in heaven, I have no idea how a person avoids topping themselves after six minuites of that. You sit there clawing at the remote when you realise this is not a break, this is the FEATURE!

But yeah, seemed a bit fishy to me. Mind you, the last time I could stomach anything endorsed by Disney, it was probably the least Disney like thing I had seen from them. Gotta love a bit of Pirates. Buckles swashed, bodices ripped, rum "evaporated" cursed pirates variously smote. When I was a kid, my sister was obsessed with the Little Mermaid. I wanted a harpoon. When Alladin came out, all I concentrated on was the occasional scimitar.

There wasnt even a decent visual spectacle in the video as posted though. Bleh, BLEH I SAY!

Im not waiting for someone to sneak a UFO out of a secret base. I am however waiting for independant analysis of a fresh scene, because without unbaised scientific analysis, belief in these things resembles faith more than it does anything else, and I believe that faith and observation must be seperated from one another, to promote objectivity.

I understand where you're coming from. Have you looked at the work and research of Ted Phillips? He specializes in physical trace cases.

For further unbiased scientific research, I'd recommend books such as The UFO Experience or The Hynek UFO Report by Dr. J. Allen Hynek or UFOs on the Record by Leslie Kean. They are very objective authors and they collect data using the scientific method. You might send me a message here if you're interested in reading them.

(Also, more on-topic, I find this Disney documentary to be pretty unimpressive for the hype it was given. It was silly at best and ridiculous at worst. Still, I guess it's good we have it.)

You logic is flawed in several aspects.

1) Governments only fail when in competition (internal or external), all fails in all arenas you can point to will be predicated in this fact. That is why despotism is so sought of by those in power...
2) There are ample examples of programs that have remained secret for many decades, so secrecy does work, even if only at times (see 1 for major reason for failure).
3) Society is an hierarchical and stratified structure. We all today understand that information and know how is power but often forget the reverse, lack of information and understanding is debilitating and this two poles are self perpetuating, the more information or lack of it the more or less you will seek to get more. This is why the middle class in every society has been so important to all human uplifting, that and age, the older your get the more indoctrinated and accommodated you will become, by social-economic and biological reasons.

add to 3 that in that beyond keeping it in the dark, active effort is being done to create disinformation and prevent anyone to remain credible when examining this stuff...

As I said in another thread look up the Colares incident for at least proof that something alien is at work and that governments do criminally cooperate to keep it under raps. Now in regards to the nature of phenomena and why the secret to me I have only one conclusion they are very afraid of it or are powerless to do something about it, none of those bodes well for the rest of us.

This is not the "lost Disney UFO documentary"
This is an old Disney TV show that was made to promote the revamping of Tomorrow land.

The "Real" lost Disney UFO doc was made by Disney at the request of the government and was supposed to contain actual UFO footage shot by the government.
