Hello ATSers,

A friend sent me a link to this image:

This was apparently found in a wall by the new owners of a house.

Here is the site I was directed to:

www.reddit.com...

full of useless random comments. I figured there are some here that can probably do better.

There was a comment I saw that seemed plausible. That is was perhaps a diploma of sorts and maybe from the far east?

College diplomas are a little more extravagant then that. Atleast here they are. Could be someone's diploma from a middle/high school though I could see that. Reddit gives me a headache trying to read through all those immature posts. Ill be watching here to see what someone can come up with.

Thanks for bringing this here. It's interesting.

I would agree with that. In fact, I'd see it more of an award or honorary thing. But what language or code is it in? And why?

No idea. I'm almost positive that the bottom is of course a signature and bottom right is initials. I'm not educated enough on this subject to say if that is a real language it would have a free flowing script like that with such detailed letters. I see a lot of emoticons toooo...
. :/. So ill go with code.

ATS smiley took my emoticon.. : ).

Also looks like that joker man font from word. That font in another language?

It's not like any language I've ever seen. Seems like a made up language to me because it has stupid letters like the capital E looking letter with 4 dots. Why would you bother to have those 4 useless dots, the only reason is to make it look alien imo.

I think the color inverted helps:

If you look at this one word:

You can see there are only two letters and both get repeated.

If we assume the second letter is an A E I O or U

That leaves us with:

Baba, dada, haha, jaja, lala, etc

Wewe, pepe, lele, etc,

didi, gigi, etc

Cut that ribbon out for me if you will. Curious to see if that will get any hits and I have no idea how to edit a photo.

I'm going to guess, just a guess, that this is a Feng Shui certificate that certifies that the house (since it was found inside a wall) has all its Feng and Shui in proper balance.

... or something quite similar to Feng Shui where a spiritual consultant comes to a home to certify that whatever superstition or kink the home owner is concerned about is covered.

"This house is ghost-free", or "This house will be happy", or something like that I expect is the spirit of the certification we see here.
Some people are happy with just some incense and a shrine, while others feel it's more 'official' to have a signed document with a declaration of official whatever-ness.

Just a guess.
