Chairman of the upper house of Parliament Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloev
at his parliamentary office. The Mayor began the meeting with a
lengthy discourse on Afghanistan, thanking the United States for
its contributions and sacrifices there, and saying that U.S.
activities there were very important “as we enter the third
millennium and the 21st century.” Ubaidulloev thought the main
task there was to build a sense of national identity among
ethnically disparate groups, and said the United States was an

This cable a message sent from the Embassy Dushanb to Washington DC.

It indicates that their is life on other planets and that we need to make peace of planet earth now.

Certainly an interesting cable.

He asserted the existence of life on other
planets, caveating this by noting that we should focus on
solving our problems on Earth.

What does he mean by this? Is this him stating a semi faith belief, or is he stating a fact here?

P.S. So why exactly did you put this 2011 item into "breaking" news forum?

I wouldn't really call it confirmation.

Many things could explain the statement. The guy could simply be under the false impression that life has been found on other planets. Hes only a mayor which is pretty low on the ladder of power and info.

The source of the cable is Mayor of a town in Aghanistan....hardly a noteworthy source, taken out of context as the rhetorical "we know" in replacement of the "scientists think" often used by politicians.

Should we believe everything Marion Barry or Jesse Ventura says as well?

This just goes without saying. I don't think we need confirmation here. Do you think there is ET life? Do you think you (humans) are the only significant intelligent life in the universe? Do you need someone here to convince you?

You either think so, or you don't. I myself will not spend my copious free time trying to convince anyone of anything, nor will I be easily convinced by what most people here have to say.

The ambassador never actually said anything which could be construed as any kind of confirmation, except his apparent belief that we have actually found 'life' on other planets.

In 1996, then President Clinton made several statements about a meteorite from Mars which reportedly was a strong candidate as proof that life once existed on Mars.

This alone could account for the context of the statement which was discovered in routine diplomatic pablum between pandering nation-states and the United States.

Sentiments aside it is far from a reference that I would consider as substantial confirmation.

This demonstrates - to a significant degree - the difference between ATS and other sites which allow hyperbole and mis-characterization to entice their readership and audience.

Since this source is so old, This thread will be moved to the UFO forum where it can be better appreciated for its content; it does not conform with the requirements for Breaking Alternative News.....

To me it sounds like he is aware of buildings or structures or some clear evidence of life on other planets, sounds like maybe all the world leaders are are and just the public are not being told.

I think this is more important then it is being given credit for.

Typo. The original cable is dated 1/15/2010

AND...this is an old subject for a thread. We talked about this exact same cable a couple of years ago on ATS.

As I said in that old thread from 2 years ago (the last time we talked about this particular wikileaks cable), there is no reason to believe this mayor "knows" secret knowledge about aliens, or if he -- just like many people in this world, including myself -- simply feels that life exists/most likely exists elsewhere in the universe.

Nope.

The date is when the cable can be considered 'declassified'..in 2020 (classified for 10 years).
