The British spy agency GCHQ has access to the global network of communications, storing calls, Facebook posts and internet histories – and shares this data with the NSA, Edward Snowden has revealed to the Guardian in a new leak
"It's not just a US problem. The UK has a huge dog in this fight," Snowden told the Guardian. "They [GCHQ] are worse than the US."

Whoa. This is news? I've posted this on any biggish ECHELON thread for years. It's UKUSA. We share and swap data to bypass our respective privacy/search laws.
By treaty, UKUSA data can be acted on despite other laws to the contrary. So if we really "want to see that data", not that we didn't already, we can just ask the UK to toss it over the wall, and then by treaty law it's actionable, 4th amendment or no. All you need to cover your butt's a paper trail that the UK "provided the information".

Want to know what British security services are up to? NOPE! You're not allowed to know because they have issued a "D Notice" on the press in the UK.

We're in it up to our necks and while Brazil goes absolutely bonkers over bus fares we sit back and let the Daily Mail tell us what to think...

Again we see the "we knew it all along, so what?" types coming out from under their government's wing to lead ATS opinion and make sure none of you get too upset or rowdy about the latest expose.
