Daniel Perry, English teacher in Hong Kong, arrested in Newark after claiming he was being rendition

Hey folks, haven't been here in what feels like an eternity, but found this breaking story rather interesting.

An English teacher from Hong Kong, Daniel Morgan Perry, was on a flight between Hong Kong and Newark when he began standing up and screaming that he was being rendered by CIA agents on the flight.

"I've become an Un-person ... They are trying to kill me."

"They are going to kill me in your own country. They are going to kill my wife."

Perry claimed that he had seen "something" and went to the US consulate (apparently in Abu Dhabi?) to report it. He then claims he was taken and repeatedly drugged while on the flight to be rendered in the United States.

He was last seen being arrested on the strip at the airport in Newark.

Some interesting new discoveries.

Dan Perry's facebook page, Dan Perry English Tutor has now disappeared completely from Facebook. Viewing the site on it's cached google page reveals that it is indeed the same person and was made in Oct of 2012. Somebody deleted his Facebook page.

Also this CBS New York video has a bit more information from the passengers who video taped and ultimate subdued Perry on flight.

An English teacher huh? From the looks of this guy he seems to be a pretty average joe, but you never know. It seems strange to be saying those types of things if your having a breakdown of some sort. I think someone having an episode on a flight would choose very different subject material than what was said. Looks like the NDAA has the feds @sses covered on this one and he could find himself in indefinite detention for whatever reason they make up.

I wonder if we'll even hear a passing mention of this story again. Seems like the guy was in the wrong place at the wrong time and compounded his problem by coming forward with what he saw, little did he know it was the worst thing he could have done. What you've really got to wonder is what did he see or know that was so sensitive?

in the chat, messonthefed said something that got me to further reflect on the "personal revelation" aspect of some of the related "crazy" behavior (his supposed being given info by this snowden character)

the guy does come across as genuine, especially releasing all his own personal info like that, he's saying "this is who i am and what i'm saying and all you have to do is verify it", so it will be interesting to see the RELATED sphere of people around him, and what they have to say of him now.. another disturbing aspect is how this is just more of all that "they're trying to kill you" stuff (you're lives are in danger)

..perhaps we are actually seeing things yet dismissing them when it comes to this story? ..let's see if a facebook page can be found (excuse the pun) ..let's see what those who know him have to say now?

I've been digging around on his cached facebook and found a link to what he said was his page for finding new students.

It looks very placeholder. esltutor.hk...

I did some more digging and found a cached version of his site on google, last cached June 13 2013. It was completely different and contained his phone number and email as well as rates for tutoring.

Somebody scrubbed his information.

Unfortunately it has been deleted, and can only be accessed via google cache. It's very normal, nothing standing out to me that indicates anything other then he is who he said he was.

In addition, I found his twitter ... again, very unassuming.

What does 'rendered' mean in this situation?

it was strange when following those leads, coming to the supposed translation of the text and the reference to cicero, i found the last line/statement interesting.. the reference to "a sweet taste" or pleasurable experience is the result of the exchange.

also, ..as you said above "placeholder" ..the other associated wiki reference went on to explain a certain term was a "placeholder" ..although sometimes people insist i read between the lines too much i can only say i did not start out searching for anything like this.. this is just how the info seemed to present itself, like all things, i tend to just take them for what they are and try to understand what it is they represent..

Taken to a CIA black site for interrogation, never to be seen again if they decide they don't like what he has to say.

Which really doesn't make sense, since the CIA has their own fleet of aircraft, including fairly long range aircraft 737 BBJ class, Gulfstream V, etc. There was no reason for them to put him on a commercial flight where he could suddenly stand up and start screaming they were taking him.

i do agree this makes the most sense but i'm always fascinated by these types of outburts, i'm interested to find out more about the previous history of this character.

He's an attention-seeking fruitcake.

Give him a slap and send him on his way.

Maybe he's got a nicotine addiction that triggered his flip-out. Actually sounds more like painkillers or opiate related ranting. It's not lack of psych meds making him do it, not a vitamin xanax deficiency. What did he put into his system to make his mind short out like that? Maybe psych meds caused it; maybe he was on an SSRI, which could have explained why he was flying home and his parents didn't know, because a job fizzled out .

Some people just can't handle their wheat and dairy. China eats rice, he likes it and it works for him apparently. Maybe he doesn't realize it's the food balancing his nerves. Then he eats the gluten and casein and it shocks his mind and he has an adult sized temper tantrum.

Now he's going to be stuck in a room on psych meds for weeks because of a mishandling of knowledge about the source of the chemical imbalance. It's likely the fault of the regional wheat varieties, introduced on the flight; some engineered wheat interferes with an enzyme responsible in humans for making chemicals like serotonin and tryptophan.

Protect yourself from wheat transition syndrome.

I read a similar story recently - can't think where - that stated a person on a flight from HK to the US started speaking loudly about how he was being rendered by the CIA and kept repeating "I'm dead, I'm dead, I'm dead". I thought they said something about it being related to Edward Snowden.

The eyewitnesses in that article stated he wasn't ranting or running up and down the aisles just stayed in his seat and spoke in a voice that could be plainly heard by everyone on the plane. He did not come across to the eyewitnesses as being crazy or mentally disturbed. I'll will try and dig the article up.

If this nutbag was being rendered by the CIA, he would have been escorted and they would have kept him quiet on the plane.

The fact that he was able to stand up, scream a load of nonsense and get himself taken off the plane is proof that his story is bollocks.

Could this guy have been brought in as the translator for Hong Kong to investigate Snowden? Daniel Perry did work for the State Department at one time and then sued them in 2009?

What the **** are you talking about?

Why would they need a translator? English is one of the official languages in Hong Kong; nearly everyone speaks it!

Why would he not do it for Hong Kong?

Curious video. He does seem bit like he may have been drugged recently. Why I'd give this some thought is he is bit different from your usual crazy rants. He gives specific information like anyone in real danger would. His name, phone, ssn, mothers name etc. etc. That's what struck me about the video.
