It is safe to say that whatever fleet of ships he brings with him will more than likely accompany him to Africa as well and if the Syrian conflict escalates, they will be deployed to match the Russian fleet of ships and subs that recently were redeployed in the Mediterranean Sea by Russia, first time since the end of the cold war.

Well the U.K. has a lot of Middle-Eastern population I think.

Maybe some terrorist cells are stationed there.

99% of the Middle eastern folks around here are only interested in making money and living the good life..just like the rest of us...but you never know i suppose..

Thinking about all of Obama's criminal activities, and so called scandals that are known publicly, and then thinking about what he's been doing that no one knows about, it just seems that he is more and more paranoid of being targeted just like other dictator types of the past..

Well this may be a good time for Obama to ask himself, what did he do to become so popular with would be Assasins? I thought everyone loved Obama?

Just imagine how disgusted we are right now with him. And also imagine how many mentally disturbed people are out there. I was just thinking the other day, that I wouldn't want to be him and out in public. As much as I dislike his actions, I would never want to see him or anyone harmed. So my advice to him is to considerably decrease his time out with the public.

Well all anyone has to do to get around a presidential detail is throw a prostitute in front of them.

There has been some protesting going on but nothing too out of the ordinary. None of the world leaders would be in any danger I think, they are at Lough Erne Golf Resort which is surrounded by a 10ft high metal fence and pretty much every security/cop in Northern Ireland lol

I think the aircraft carrier has a fully equipped operating theatre, expert staff on stand-by with stocks of the Presidents/V.P`s etc. blood.

Clinton had a similar escort on one of his visits to Eire.

It certainly seems like overkill though ........ power project and all that jive I guess.

Looks like that carrier group is routinely in the area anyway, and probably is already nearby. With all the protests that happen during G8 summits, it's a contingency plan in place.

The G8 Summits have become notorious for violent altercations and riots. It's little wonder they put a plan like this in place.

2 carriers with 10,000 people not counting the other ships in a carrier battle group because carriers don't travel alone. with 180 aircraft is TOO MUCH.


It is a serious missallocation of resources.
