I've never tried this. I think it would 'weird me out' too much.
Has anyone tried mirror gazing to induce visions or OBE?
If so ... was it a good or bad experience?
Did it invite spirits or entities that were negative or positive?
Did it work at all or was it just hokum for you?

Mirror Gazing

- Go to a quiet place in the home.
- Sit in a very comfortable chair with backing for your head to relax.
- Have a large mirror placed in front of you.
- Twilight ... with a lit candle behind the chair supposedly works best.
- Think about who you wish to talk to or what you want to know about.
- Then relax and watch the visions unfold in the darkened mirror.

Sounds too spooky for me. But I"m interested to know if anyone here has tried it.

I don't have any candles.

But I'm feeling...receptive, this evening. I'll give it a shot and report back.

Do you think I could keep my radio on, or is silence preferred?
How long should I expect to sit there, an hour or so?

Yes, through adolescence and my teenaged years with a gold-anodized aluminum bowl that I swiped from somewhere or another, filled with water that I tinted with black ink.

Sure, it works, but it helps if you are prone to trance. Some are more than others.

From what I understand ... you need quiet otherwise you'll get distracted.
And as for how long ... .however long it takes for you to relax and disengage
from the distractions.

Soft twilight type light is best. Light behind you .. candle like ... but very soft ...

For me .. 15 minutes puts me in the right 'state' of disengage.
But I've never done this with a mirror ....

Good luck.

Water gazing .. similar to mirror gazing.
I could do the water gazing.
But something about mirrors is just kinda creepy to me.
I'd have to hear how it goes with others first.
I'm too afraid something would show up ... something from the mirror or something.
(Can't explain it)

"Something" likely will. Don't worry, you can't be harmed.

If the Mirror bugs you, don't do the ink-in-water; that makes a black mirror.

P.S. You will likely just get enjoyable geometric and 'actual' landscapes; if you relax. Are you afraid of heights?

Ok.

Your link says soft music can help, so I think I will leave my radio on down stairs.
I'm going to use a full length mirror that is on the door of an empty room at the end of my upstairs hallway.

I don't have anyone in particular I will be trying to contact, I'll just keep my mind open and vaguely ask for knowledge.

On an unrelated note, I could have sworn I heard something up there earlier today, so much so, that I searched the entire upstairs with a shotgun. Something I have never felt the need to do in the 9 months I have been in this house.

When I disengage and let go without the mirror or water gazing, I do indeed get the landscapes and shapes and quick changing scenes. It's hard to slow them down.

Ahhhh okay. I thought you were asking how I did it ...
Yes, the 'how to' site says soft music is okay.
That doesn't work for me .. I end up distracted by it.

I could have sworn I heard something up there earlier today,

The spirit world has advanced site. Someone on the other side could have known you'd
be attempting contact and they could have shown up a bit early. (really)

I tried this when I was first getting into the whole psychic experience.
Would sit in a semi dark room and stare at a mirror in my lap trying to invoke visions much like Nostradamus did with a bowl of water.

Nothing happened until one point when I saw myself looking back at me only I was much older with a crazy stare.
Never did it again after that...

I've not tried it but I have certainly studied it.

It is called a psychomanteum and it has to be set up in a completely blackened room with low light, and you have to gaze into the mirror at a slight angle so you cannot see yourself.

It's just another way to peer through the veil.

Well ... I'm already old and have a bit of a crazy stare so I guess I'm already there and seeing that wouldn't freak me out too much. I'm used to it. Seriously though ... interesting story. Wonder what that was.

I hope watchitburn saw this before he went to give it a try. Thats good info.
The site I was looking at said 'twilight' light and a soft candle behind the chair to
give a bit of a light. It also said that the mirror tends to get cloudy or even darken up ...

So your method says not to look into the mirror?
How is it mirror gazing then? Or did I misunderstand??

I really think it was me looking back from some future date, which is why I never tried again.
I got easily freaked out back then. I still do, but not so much as to stop doing what I am doing.
Now it gets to be more of a feeling of excitement than fear.

At that point I had some really strange experiences that to this day I have not had again.

lol...I wrote gave....I meant to write gaze.

You set the mirror at a slight angle so you don't see your reflection...you just see dark emptiness....the void. Then it all starts to happen.

HA! I knew mirrors made me nervous for a reason!
You can freak'n see the 'dark void' if you tilt them. And here my family was telling me I was quirky for not liking mirrors. Now I can tell them this info and say 'I told you so!'

You think that's scary -- how about when the mirror isn't tilted and you STILL don't see yourself?

I'm not going for mirrors, yes, can see how it may work but it would be very similar in a sense to evp or contact, visions and meditation.

However, to bring in the images, it tends to require, IMO and hopefully someone may correct me if I'm wrong, but a stronger entity to manifest the image? To me that is the opposite of helping ordinary folk.

Also if you meditate and your own veil lifts and you envision or remember, or have telepathic communication with images, this is something you respond to, and its not divination.

Whatever one decides to do regarding these kind of matters, stay safe, work on yourself that you are not seeking power, but empowerment of others, to help, and wear that armor of LOVE. Work on yourself a lot.

Also, ask Source and your own Soul about this before sleep.

That is what I intend to do with the EVP issues.

I wonder how similiar to a crystal ball this is, or the wicked witch in snow white saying, Mirror Mirror on the Wall, or even, I reacall project looking glass?

Do it. It's totally worth it. I don't do this exactly but I do use a keek-stane which is a similar principle.

Being afraid is something you need to leave behind. Realize that what you see is no less real than what you see out your window.
