Sorry if this theory has been proposed in the past.

I personally love the Nazca lines and what they could represent, but I am also a minimalist when it comes to finding answers. After looking at them for several hours, I've come to one simple conclusion. They are race tracks for people. I choose to believe rival villages competed to deliver the most fun race tracks, and built some amazing tracks to run on. There is a history of running in Mexico and South America with their native people. Running has replaced fighting in some cultures and some villages choose to spare in a variety of physical endurance or other sports as a way to prevent bloodshed.

I propose the Nazca lines are a kind of Greek Olympics of South America.

Good day.

Nice theory

However, wouldn't they need to be wider to accodate more runners?

I'm sure they are only wide enough for one person

So they wouldn't be ableto race on them

Unless they ran in single file

Yes maybe, but if you've watched much of the village competitions they run in single file line at a team. They don't really pass much, and once the race has been going very long the distances between them can be pretty vast. If you consider the mountain running tribes and the paths they travel appear to be a single person's width too.

I didn't know that

Cool

It also sounds more interesting than people just walking along them in a precession

Checkout the Mexican tribe The Tarahumara. Where their tribe record for running was over 400 miles in 48 hours. There are youtube videos on them.
