I had a female friend back in the 80’s who got beat up all the time because her Muslim Father found out she was doing normal 16 y/o girly kind of stuff outside of the home. Her Father found out she was putting makeup on when she was in the school bus on the way to school. Her father whipped her with a belt so many times that she had strap marks from her middle back down to her feet! She always kept hush hush about it because she was scared for her life! There were a couple times that he was turned in for the physical and psychological abuse, but the father found other ways to physically abuse her. Ways that didn’t leave marks. At the end of the day, they were able to get her into a foster home. She would have been killed otherwise. They had to move her into a couple different foster homes because the family found out where she was staying.

Open your eye’s people; it is the so called “friendly” Muslims demonstrating hate in the streets when someone sketches out a cartoon of Mohammed. I have NEVER seen Muslims out in the streets rallying together to demonstrate their love for this great country! And for those that say that it is only a small majority that are wackos…? Go ahead and burn the Koran, talk down Muhammad, etc..! I’m sorry people! I’m just not feeling the love! Are there really that many people out there that are so blind to the truth?

If there are mostly women in hell, wouldn't that mean that those 70 virgins per man would have to be men too? If not then there are WAY more women than men in heaven, at least a 70:1 ratio.

I don't think they'd be too happy if they found out those virgins are actually guys.

On the other hand the guy in hell has all the women and the beer, as well as the western clothes and late night partys no wonder it's hot down there.

No it doesn't, not when those 72 virgins are perpetual, which means after you're done having your fun they are magically virgin again, and you have to retrain them the next day. Repetative punishment is a theme of Hell. Moral of the story is they think theyre going to heaven, but when they get there they soon realize they went to hell.

Well, I can't speak for the others, but my belief in the "72 virgins thing" did not come from any hatred or any desire to take the lies of terrorists and show them to be the beliefs of true Muslims or whatever you said. It was, in my case, a simple mistake. Of course, I would properly research it before going as far as openly criticising anyone for it or making a thread about it, and I would explain that these beliefs are not found in the quran, if that was what I found to be true.

I'm actually glad this person made this thread, or else I would never have read your post and would never have discovered a new possible truth that I will research after I'm done here. Thanks to both of you. You and the op. You've made quite a good team today, one asking questions and the other answering them. You should really get together and do this again sometime.

It's kind of sad that the op didn't clarify, and then you had to make it all about hate and some strange, obscure desire to, what was it you said...oh yeah, take the words of terrorists and show them to be the beliefs f true Muslims. What a strange desire... Is that, in your opinion, like a hobby to some people? Or something the Freemasons do in private Bilderberger meetings? Would it go something like this?: "Alright ladies and gentleman, and our order of business for today will be, Taking The Words of Terrorists and Showing Them to Be The. I'm a new member, but have lurked here a bit and have come to really appreciate the dialog that occurs here; open, respectful and a willingness to entertain the opposite POV.

I decided to make my first post in reply to this thread, mainly because I believe that the OP is lacking a fundamental understanding of the people in the Middle East; the majority of muslims, save the uber-rich oil sheiks, politicians, imams and those that live in Westernized nations (Egypt, Saudi Arabia ect.), are literally living in the 15th century.

During my time deployed to the Middle East, interacting with regular muslims, I began to realize that these people are not 'stupid' in the sense that they do not understand subjects such as basic math, but are ignorant of the world around them due to the isolation of their countries because of the PTB. I liken their mentality to that of the people in North Korea:

IMO the reason that we are dealing with the growth of militant islam is due to the stranglehold that militant islam has over the region and the complete lack of non-theistic based education.

The laws in the Quran are actually designed to protect women. You are just basing your opinion from how the media portrays Islam.

Having them walk around in burqas in public, stoning them if they look at another man, killing their daughters if they feel they've dishonored their family. Those are facts of the Muslim religion, not something the media just made up. If that's called protecting women and treating them with respect, I don't think any non-Muslim women would want any part of it.

Islam, as with all religions, is a phallocentric system of control concocted by men in a time where there was no easier way to control the masses than through an ethereal threat. So it's little wonder Islam's carrot is sex / 72 virgins / 28 pearly boys- it panders to the vices of man.

It's these very distinctive human fingerprints smeared all over religion that render the concept null and void, and in fact, ludicrously hypocritical in its propositions.

Is suggesting mojo sex with many virgins in paradise, in order to get men to believe in a religion any shallower than claiming there is an afterlife so that people who fear mortality will cling to a religion? Seems like six of one and half a dozen of the other.

Why not create a thread about Christianity being shallow because it caters to people hoping against hope for an afterlife? Oh yeah, this is ATS, which is overrun with Islam-bashing threads, many of which are created by Christians who haven't the sense to look critically at their own religion, but rather just get all bigoty towards some religion from another culture.

I think the problem is, many pillar heads of Muslim countries maintain there power by the sword and often quite unjustly. You cannot honestly tell me that Sharia Law is just?

I say if your gonna believe in fairy tales why not believe the most appealing one?

My female muslim friend once told me that its very hard for women to get into heaven, apparently half of them end up in hell for something or other. Hey, at least they wouldn't have to share a bloke for eternity

In answer to th OP, now that i think about it it does seem very shallow - But that cant really be the only incentive to be a good muslim now, can it?

72 virgins is not even mentioned in the Quran. Only very ignorant muslims believe in that #.

Its all about marketing, when had a Paradise, which is peaceful and serene. Islam had to make religion more appealing to their males.
