50 Worst Charities

The needy get a tiny fraction-

Fifty charities collected $970.6 million from generous Americans. Only about $49.1 million in direct cash actually went to the needy. How is this possible? CNN partners with the Tampa Bay Times and the Center for Investigative Reporting.

Many give such a small fraction of their proceeds to the actual charity that rounded off, it's 0.0%.

There's a link on the story to the 'solicitors' or fundraisers associated with these fake charities, names, phone numbers and addresses. This is appalling...it's a very well researched expose and well worth reading if you've ever felt guilty about not offering money to a phone caller asking for donations.

Do charities have the same regulatory body that keeps an eye on the banks? They seem equally as incompetent if they are a seperate entity.

Thank you for posting this. S&F

Mods, I don't know if this is appropriate, so please delete if necessary. My favorite charity is donorschoose. The way it works is a teacher writes a proposal for whatever it is she needs for the classroom. She provides the store where it can be purchased and the total amount of the item. Then folks from anywhere can donate as little or as much as they want to any specific project. There's even a way to view the schools in the poorer areas first.

I got a listening center from donorschoose. It came with a CD player, six headphones, and a multijack. I also got several books on CD for the kids. Total cost from the supplier was something like $500.00 (I don't remember exactly). They charged an administrative fee of about thirty dollars. So my total project request was about 530.00. It was funded within two weeks.

I noticed that Red Cross didn't make their list...

Since this appears to be "Award-winning journalism" from the MSM why would they?

The Red Cross is an Illuminati front that masquerades as a "charity,"

The American Red Cross or the International Red Cross, like the International Monetary Fund (IMF) or the World Bank, is an Illuminati-controlled front organization whose true purpose is completely opposite from their stated purpose.

The Red Cross is a disaster racket which is in the business of making money from disasters-especially from engineered disasters.

The history is clear, the Red Cross and other large so-called charities are in actual fact front group collection agencies for the military industrial complex. Many informed historians have even alleged that the Red Cross was used as a Skull and Bones cover to overthrow The Russian Czar and pave the way for the rise of the Bolsheviks.

www.illuminati-news.com...

Now, if you add human sacrifices to the cross, you get a bloody red cross and this is really where America got their Red Cross, which is a UN Lucifer Organization. The Red Cross of today, goes to battle fields because these people view war as a form of human sacrifice, which is why we are always at war now a days.

The Red Cross wasn’t formed by some woman, during the Civil War or even in 1863 as people may think but instead the Red Cross was founded by the Illuminati in Va State, as a form of ritual slaughter in effort to have Lucifer bless the land and of course Lucifer’s blessing are really a bloody curse.

"The Red Cross spent only 27% of the money raised after the September 11 attack for that purpose, reserving the rest, explaining that the money had "evolved into a war fund." The Red Cross raised more than $564 million for the Liberty Fund, which was set up in response to the September 11 attacks. While the agency stated on its Web site that it was spending more than any other relief agency responding to the attack, it had distributed only $154 million.

Red Cross CEO/President Bernadine Healy was forced out following controversy about the Red Cross handling of September 11 funds it raised. Her severance package from the Red Cross was nearly two million dollars." www.opednews.com...

Seven months after Superstorm Sandy, the Red Cross still hasn’t spent more than a third of the $303 million it raised to assist victims of the storm. Link

The Red Cross has a well documented history of fraud. Another catastrophe is always another chance to cheat the good hearted citizens of the USA. Time and again the Red Cross has been caught "red" handed in their theft of donations -- or at least withholding them until everybody has forgotten where the money went. www.conspiracyplanet.com...

The red cross has received approximately 1 billion dollars for relief in Japan. NONE of the money was given to japan. www.youtube.com...

Along with the government, the American Red Cross is also engaged in a massive fraud, staging photos ops, and then widely publicizing the pictures to give the impression that their efforts are meaningful (they are not, given their size and funding) in order to solicit donations.

Fact: The American Red Cross has an open government contract in which they are reimbursed for 100% of all the expenses involved running specific relief operations. So every blanket, every crumb of food, every gallon of gas they’re burning will be paid for with your tax dollars. The American Red Cross usually soaks up about 70% of all the money that people donate for high profile relief operations. That means that all the other groups, including many of which are doing truly heroic and much needed work, have to share the remaining 30% of the pie. helpaftersandy.org...

The Red Cross has a long history of thieving and stealing cash donations intended for disaster relief. Even as far back as the Korean War the Red Cross was plundering soldiers' mail and care packages. Some veterans have informed us that they would buy cigarettes from the Red Cross and find a twenty dollar bill or a note from a soldier's mother tucked into the pack.

I used to work for a non-profit, part time, low pay, no real room to maneuver or advance, but it was better than living off of charity.

I got hurt and was terminated because the doctors wanted me to stay off of work until I was seen by a specialist to make sure I wouldn't possibly injure myself further by working, they said they let me go because they couldn't keep me on the payroll for an extended period of time without having a date of return or something.

They didn't even read the paperwork (doctor's excuse) they just let me go.

I really don't care, I hated the job, I never witnessed anything so inefficient and wasteful in my entire life as when I worked there, 50% of the donations were ruined before they even got out to the sales floor, the clothing they claimed to be sending to third world countries, or other stores if not sold, was actually sent to Canada to be recycled, a lot of stuff walked out the door with employees.........

A non-profit corporation/church needs only to funnel it's profits back into the company, sounds like a good way to make stuff up and go POOF into un-accountability land.

I should start me a non-profit, it's really fine way to get something for nothing, or very little...

My experience working for a non-profit made me realize that entities which work off of donations have no real reason to do anything but squander those funds and goods, entities like the government which works off of what amount to forced donations is one of those entities, there are many more.

People on welfare take so little compared to charities and other fake ass institutions, that it is a real shame they are so frequently used as scapegoats when it comes to trying to explain how bad it has gotten in this country.

It's not the welfare dude/chick, it's those who benefit from doling out the welfare funds, and those who benefit from those spending those welfare funds, the so called "beneficiary" really benefits very little if at all in comparison.

Call it a "Bailout" a "Subsidy", but blame the right people, and besides, you don't really pay for it anyway, you are just led to believe that to keep you pecking at each other like the chickens you emulate.

Oooops, I wandered off topic again.................

Boy oh boy, those cancer charities are a real fund raising business aren't they? I have to admit I was quite surprised at the missing children ones. Actually it burns me up.

Unfortunately this is not a recent phenomenon.

Here is a good website that reports on the honesty of charities.

It's good to check out a charity before you donate to it.

The UK version of Charity Watch maintains a list showing the salaries paid to the people running charities and it makes pretty sad reading.

Top Incomes by Charity Sector

The website also highlights other problems with charities worth knowing about

Charity Watch UK

ps ..... I never give to charity. I do help people when I can.
