rebs want heavier weapons

Syria’s rebels on Friday criticized the U.S. decision to offer small-scale military assistance as late and inadequate, saying they will need heavy weapons to counter the growing challenge posed by a reinvigorated Syrian army that is already receiving foreign help.

Talk to me when there are sustained artillery strikes from Syria on Turkish soil until then you clearly misunderstand who the attackers and defenders are, and while Syria has had every right to do so, they have not.

And there we were naïvely thinking the Cold War ended in 1989...

Here's some history:
*1959 - USSR signs agreement with Iraq to build a nuclear power plant
*1968 - Soviets supplied IRT-2000 research reactor which could be used for radioisotope production near Baghdad
Sometime in the past: Paris agreed to sell 72 kg of 93% Uranium to Iraq
*1970's to 80's: Assisted by many global firms, especially Germany, helped build Iraqi chemical weapons facilities such as laboratories, bunkers, an administrative building, and first production buildings in the early 1980s under the cover of a pesticide plant...along with 1,027 tons of precursors of mustard gas, sarin, tabun, and tear gasses
*1988, German engineers presented centrifuge data that helped Iraq expand its nuclear weapons program.
52% of Iraq's international chemical weapon equipment was of German origin.
*1980's: France also provided glass-lined reactors, tanks, vessels, and columns used for the production of chemical weapons. Around 21% of Iraq’s international chemical weapon equipment was of French origin
*1979 and 1982: Italy gave Iraq plutonium extraction facilities that advanced Iraq’s nuclear weapon program along with 75,000 shells and rockets designed for chemical weapons
*1981 and 1982: Brazil secretly aided the Iraqi nuclear weapon program by supplying natural uranium dioxide along with 100 tons of mustard gas also came from Brazil.
*1989: Up until this year, the US, through the non-profit American Type Culture Collection and the Centers for Disease Control sold or sent biological samples of anthrax, West Nile virus and botulism to Iraq
*Singapore gave 4,515 tons of precursors for VX, sarin, tabun, and mustard gases to Iraq
*The Dutch gave 4,261 tons of precursors for sarin, tabun, mustard, and tear gases to Iraq.
*Egypt gave 2,400 tons of tabun and sarin precursors to Iraq and 28,500 tons of weapons designed for carrying chemical munitions.
*India gave 2,343 tons of precursors to VX, tabun, Sarin, and mustard gases.
*Luxembourg gave Iraq 650 tons of mustard gas precursors.
*Spain gave Iraq 57,500 munitions designed for carrying chemical weapons. In addition, they provided reactors, condensers, columns and tanks for Iraq’s chemical warfare program
*China provided 45,000 munitions designed for chemical warfare.
*Portugal provided yellowcake between 1980 and 1982.
*Niger provided yellowcake in 1981.
*2006, former Iraqi general, Georges Sada, who served under Saddam Hussein before he defected, wrote a comprehensive book detailing how the Iraqi Revolutionary Guard moved weapons of mass destruction into Syria, before the US-led action to eliminate Saddam Hussein’s WMD threat, by loading the weapons into civilian aircraft in which the passenger seats were removed.

And the list goes on and on and on....hope all of you got all that, on this, over it and around it - upside down and backwards.

It is a never ending cycle, but it's certainly not stupid on their part. They, the government and all the contractors and subdivisions that make the weapons, ammo & armor turn the cog for the MIC and are getting filthy freakin rich off these wars, liberation campaigns and all the suffering of innocent people worldwide

Update :

US arms to flow to militants via Turkey

Media reports say Turkey, a NATO member, is likely to be the transit destination for US-supplied lethal weapons to foreign-backed militants fighting the Syrian government

Imagine that!
We knew that one way or the other, that our criminal government would find a way or make an excuse to get us more involved, and you can dang well bet it is not for the benefit of the Syrian or American People.

It is about control and conquer with Iran being the Grand Prize.

I'm so confused on what is he trying to accomplish here.

The man has really lost all clear signs of good judgment.

If Satan was in charge of the opposing forces to take out Assad and put there puppets in, the ones with the grand agenda in our government would side with him.

People of the world, our government has gone rogue.

The military needs to say enough is enough, because the people here on the mainland are still too drunk with privilege to do anything about it.

I hope I live to see the day when a lot of the people in DC for the last 10 years go before the hague.
That are traitors to this country that have destroyed it for their own gain.
