And again, I'm only stating in the light of all the recent scandals - 50 year old evidence of this nature surfacing is odd timing.

50 years is exactly the right timing - it is when things are scheduled to become easily declassified.

Here is the autopsy report. The coroner later said he believed she was murdered. There wasn't much in her stomach and no needle marks. Her lungs were congested and showed fluid. I'm not sure if she was ill prior to this but I've always believed she was murdered. Maybe not by the Kennedy's but probably associated with them.
