Well, heck.. It's not like it's something I keep secret. I've mentioned it here before... When I'd turned 18 I did some time traveling the nation. By car and Bus at different points. Part of that was with a special lady I was engaged to for a brief time. She got herself all mixed up with a cult in Denver who built their whole 'shtick' around this genre and area of life. Vampyres, I mean. Feeding was just part of life with that group, though not in anything like the amount this lady claims. A couple liters is quite a tall order, I must say. At least if we're not taking fatalities, it's a tall order.

Anyway... She fell in, I joined in to get her out and the experience formed one of my more meaningful periods in life for learning about human nature and learning about myself and my own limits. Where they are for both and what I won't cross for doing...having been at the line with reason to cross it.

You raise a good point.To what extent should a mother keep herself as safe as possible,for her children's sake? Blood is not something most mothers would consume,and so possibly put themselves at risk of disease.But what about smoking,drinking alcohol when out with friends,then driving home.DRIVING WHILE USING A CELLPHONE?Being promiscuous?Being addicted to legal drugs?Bungee jumping or mountain climbing?Hiking(considering all the weird stuff in apparently afoot in American national forests)
A divorced mother going on a date with a man she does'nt know well,but could be a serial killer-or such a crappy driver that he gets them both killed?Going out your front door every day is a risk-if one wants to do a real accurate risk assessment-yet we all do it.This woman may or may not check if the people who willingly donate blood has a clean bill of health-most likely she does,and it's people she knows well.Even if not,she is doing one risky thing,while a lot of people women do several risky things each day without giving it a second thought.Perspective.

She is definitely mentally ill and I am sure that she can see her reflection in the mirror (and it will get older looking each year). I feel sorry for her children who are obviously affected by all of this madness.

As some one who said "live and let live" here's my reply to you-I did not have children so other people have to babysit them-i babysit my own kids.I don't go to places where it's not appropriate to take my children along.I would NEVER have "interviews" for a babysitter,that's insane-a total stranger babysitting my children?
Yeah right That's gonna happen But if I'd known Julia Caples for years and she was a trusted friend I may let her babysit in an emergency-as I only ever would let a trusted friend of many years or relative babysit my children.Hope that answers your question.

I wouldnt let her near my children under any circumstances, not through fear of her chowing down on his haemoglobin, but more due to the fact that her compass of what is socially and morally acceptable in todays society seems to be mis-aligned.

I just feel that this woman does'nt hide who she is and what her particular "cup of tea" is-she is open and forthright about her very alternative sub-culture leaning+habits.My point is,you get more "normal" people who would think nothing of bullying another person online eg till that person commits suicide.Go through life cheating, lying stealing,being addicted to porn or sadism,spreading malicious gossip+lies about others,all kinds of hidden fetishes+perversions-and no one ever knows,because of how nice+normal+average the person acts.Jeffrey Dahmer's neighbours thought he was a nice young man.I would rather take my chances with someone who is open and upfront about their weirdness.Especially if that person is a mother with children who certainly don't seem to be in any way traumatised by their mother's unusual habit. But each to their own,I can understand that she must make a lot of people uncomfortable.I have a different set of criteria when it comes to evaluating people,maybe because i have 1st hand experience as to how deceiving "normal" socially acceptable

Imo people who neglect+abuse their children should have their children taken away-and obviously this woman is not such a person.While she may be an embarrassment to her children,so are many parents,without even doing anything society finds freakish.If she loves her children and takes good enough care of them,there is absolutely no reason for her children to be taken away.The current American president( and the one before him) does/did things/allows things every day that's a helluva lot more damaging to society than this woman or any other "freak" could do in a lifetime-i don't see any calls for his kids to be removed from him.

When you become a parent you need to be a rational agent who intends to teach the best proven ideas to their children in order to maximize their wellbeing.

I do think this is ridiculous and hope her children figure that out as well, but this really isn't any more child abuse than religious indoctrination. I think both religious indoctrination and these sort of bizarre beliefs are child abuse although society on the whole doesn't agree.

Being open and upfront about being weird itsn't to be commended. My crietria when evaluating the sanity or mental compass of an individual would firstly consist of "do they drink blood". The spider chart ends there if the answer is yes.

That's where we have a difference of opinion-i don't think it's a bad thing to be open about one's weirdness as long it does'nt hurt anybody.I'm wayyy more creeped out by the extremely normal-seeming+acting ones who Hide their weirdness.And often perversions far more disgusting than drinking the blood of a consenting adult who also is into that type of thing.I'm not squeamish about blood but I sure as heck would never want to drink the stuff-Especially not some one else's-Eee-hew.But there are far worse things-and I would bet my life that the worst offenders,the ones you'd want to keep away from kids at all costs-you won't ever be able to recognise as such.I happen to know who one of the paedophiles in our town is-and he comes across as dead normal-there's no give-aways whatso ever.Between having him babysit a child,and this woman,I know who I'd pick if those were hypothetically my only 2 options in an emergency.Anyway I'm tired of vamp-lady now but it was nice talking to you,have a good day:-)

How would that work? I thought that after you consume a certain amount of blood, it reacts with the fluids in your stomach amd creates ammonia and it kills you. But maybe not I dunno

I went out with a girl in High School who was into the vamp scene. I ran into her about 20 years later, and she was a Phlebotomy Technician.

How fitting!

To each their own I guess, certainly not my thing, but there is a pretty big underground vamp scene.

Yes and how often do you hear of them being complete retards who drink blood thinking there vampires? what happens 1 day if her kids go missing or end up with alot of scars from her drinking there blood? she is a danger to the kids in any way you look at it. But in the case of this woman-she is not drinking blood from her own children-she is drinking from consenting adults who are completely ok with it.There is a massive difference.Maybe you did'nt read the article properly.Furthermore she has an adult daughter who does'nt agree with her mother's weird habit-but has not come out to criticize her mother for any single other thing,like being abusive,unloving or forcing her habit onto her children in any way shape or form.I also think it's pretty stupid to drink the blood of others,but there is no evidence that this woman is any more of a threat to her children than a normal-looking/acting parent who behind closed doors may well be subjecting their children to psychological/physical abuse or else neglects them in various ways,even by something as "normal" as being emotionally cold+unloving+distant or putting her career/a boyfriend before her children.Just because a person's habit or fetish comes across as grotesque to some people does Not automatically convert into them being a bad/unloving+abusive parent.This is misconception that many people have-that parents that do not confirm to "Brady Bunch"+apple-pie normality in appearance and habits,are bad/risky parents.Strange,because there's a whole world full of psychologically scarred+damaged people out there-and the vast majority of these damaged unhappy folks had parents that looked +acted in the the public eye,as normal+wholesome as puppies.
