Lynne Rosen and John Littig were found dead Monday in their Park Slope home. As a psychotherapist Rosen, 46, and motivational speaker Littig, 48, were in the business of telling people how to live.

Well, the irony is self-evident and though it's never amusing when someone takes their, or anyone's, life, I admit to distasteful interest in this news.

I hold to the philosophy that people who are in the "self-help" biz usually are in need of saving far more than the poor people who listen to them. My limited experience knowing a few folks who went that route support this.

I want to add that suicide is just a miserable ripple effect of badness, unless terminal illness is involved, or more terminal illness than humans usually have in the sense that we are all "dying."

The trick is to live a little in the process.

"Physician, heal thyself" and all that...

Self help specialist don't usually kill them selves..

Man, now I feel like a jerk. Pretty odd story though, isn't it? Sorry!!!

Tip: use the old search engine and put in something unique. In this case, if you'd have searched for "John Littig", the only thing it would have returned was the existing thread (it now returns this thread and that one.)

All death is suicide.

At the beginning of my awakening I had an experience that showed me death is nothing but an idea. One you use as an escape, like a back door, when things get too much to take. well for me that door closed and I was told death will not get you out of here.

The only real end to this nightmare of sickness, pain and death is awakening.

Wow, that's pretty crazy. There is something fishy going on there. Anyone got any ideas?
