I am sorry, but to call me out at this point over a post that is simply pointing out the reality is nothing short of trolling. It certainly doesn't add anything positive to this thread.

Still, I'm very pleased that I reached out and touched your soul.

Did anyone else notice the sandwich bags were tear-off & twist-tie? What were trash bags, then? And that WAS a lot of tissue. Think ceramic mugs not paper cups rated for hot stuff.

Yeah I did notice it, because this is a remarkable technology. Thanks for pointing it out, I think this deserves a more in depth discussion.

I don't know, we'll have to do more research, but I don't know if we will ever know, it is quite an obscure area from that era.

And that WAS a lot of tissue.

I know right? Amazing huh, all that soft paper!

Why would you speak to me directly if you got a problem, when you can take little potshots from the relative safety of a reply to someone else?

It also seems that people keep calling me out. If you don't like to see me talk, then don't poke me.

Don't poke me or my candied yams

Sorry I couldn't help myself

You have to fry spam to eat it and that ought to be a felony offense ~ nasty stuff!

This is history man. What are you complainning about. I was a kid during the cold war, when the USA and the Soviet Union were nose to nose. THis is a time capsule From a time when we all lived in fear.

I would check to see if any of the food was still edible . Even at 50 years old,its probably healthier than all the processed stuff we eat now

My first house had a fallout shelter in the basement. Stairs led down from the basement to the shelter. It wasn't stocked, though--just a couple of canning jars of old peaches. It was an interesting conversation piece, for sure.
