Isnt it worrying how many members on a site like this ATS support " thought " control? Kind of ironic.

And this is precisely why they never catch the real culprits because they wont arrest the leaders who guide these nutters into such radical thoughts, but they will happily arrest Joe average.

And what ever anyone says, this wasnt a joke comment. However, there are tons of distasteful jokes. And they circulate fast. What next? Arrest people who tell jokes.

O, come on.... she said (and I quote). " Whoever wears a 'Help For Heroes' Shirt should have their head cut off " (End Quote).

This is very bad taste and she could have easily meant it to be serious.

Only a few weeks have passed since the 'Rigby' murder.

Was in very bad taste and she deserves 250 hours of slavery IMO.

If I'd said 'Everyone wearing a burka deserves their heads cutting off' would people have been so keen to jump to my defence?

If afterwards, I said 'It's ok, it was only a joke' would people have complained if I was punished?

Having seen several messages of this ilk on the day and days after Lee Rigby's murder, I have to disagree that this was a 'joke', it's incitement, a thing in which people like the EDL/ UKIP/ BNP/ UAF would make front page news for.

Regardless of the context, with the feeling and hatred surrounding this callous and unprovoked attack, it is right that these people are punished, even so lightly. If one sentence of community service makes several others think before posting such comments, then neither the right or left wing will profit.

It's only community service. Kids do stupid things. I got community service for driving with alcohol in my system at age 17. Blew a .01 %.

Just enough to teach you a lesson. Not a criminal record.

yes.

believe or not some people are willing to defend others right to say something even if they don't like what is being said.
