Anti-govt move: MMA to hold general convention on November 28

KARACH : Chief of Muttahida Mujlis-e-Amal Qazi Hussain Ahmed has announced that the MMA would hold general convention in Karachi on November 28, and if the government attempted to stop it by force then it would spread in entire city.


Talking to newsmen here, Qazi Hussain Ahmed said that MMA's anti-government movement was aimed at to get rid the people of tyranny, and a war to bring Islamic revolution in the country. " People will launch movement against US and its allies", he said.


Qazi said that the entire resources of Muslim Ummah were occupied by enemies, which demands a big political move against the rulers who have been the slaves of US.


MMA leader said:" we tried to take out a solution, but by ignoring it General Musharraf has clarified that he would retain both offices of Army Chief and President simultaneously, because he has weapon." This situation, he said, left no option for MMA to have contact with people as the military intervention could only be stopped by the people force.


" People are fade up with military rule, and now they want independence", Qazi said.


To a query Qazi Hussain Ahmed said that he did not know whether ARD would join us, but anti-government movement was inevitable and would be launched from Karachi.


To another question, MMA leader said that General Musharraf has ignored the history of Kashmir, and put forward a formula which is clear deviation from the national stand.


"Generals want to avoid war, and they are busy in the distribution of plots, every General and Brigadier has become millionaire", he said.


Terming the US prime terrorist of the world, Qazi said that General Musharraf was his ally and following the American roadmap. " Wana operation has been a part of this roadmap, he is also attempting to distort the Islamic image of religious parties and seminaries, his agenda is totally opposite to us", Qazi said.

interesting, he states "the people want independance" but hes talking about bringing in Islamic Rule..seems to me that the two are incompatible. it would be more like the tyranny that we see in Iran. no hope for the masses?
