True. He was a dangerous man. Spreading words of wisdom to the masses. How dare he?

Couldn't they just ban his posts?

Right outside this lazy summer home
You aint got time to call your soul a critic no.
Right outside the lazy gate of winters summer home,
Wondrin where the nut-hatch winters,
Wings a mile long just carried the bird away.

Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world,
The heart has it's beaches, it's homeland and thoughts of it's own.
Wake now, discover that you are the song that the mornin' brings,
But the heart has it's seasons, it's evenin's and songs of it's own.

There comes a redeemer, and he slowly too fades away,
And there follows a wagon behind him that's loaded with clay.
Seeds that were silent all burst into bloom, and decay,
And night comes so quiet, it's close on the heels of the day.

Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world,
The heart has it's beaches, it's homeland and thoughts of it's own.
Wake now, discover that you are the song that the mornin' brings,
But the heart has it's seasons, it's evenin's and songs of it's own.

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own,
And sometimes we visit your country and live in your home,
Sometimes we ride on your horses, sometimes we walk alone,
Sometimes the songs that we hear are just songs of our own.

Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world,
The heart has it's beaches, it's homeland and thoughts of it's own.
Wake now, discover that you are the song that the mornin' brings,
But the heart has it's seasons, it's evenin's and songs of it's own.

Hearing all the Floyd in this thread gave me my first proto flashback... so thanks.

Hmmm... you do know that Floyd song, and the movie it's part of the soundtrack of, is primarily about heroin, right? Like all songs there are as many meanings as ears hearing it, but just saying... great song though. The movie, More, by Babette Schroder is pretty, too, if a bit slow and disjointed. Lovely kids living a carefree life on the Mediterranean until heroin addiction ultimately rips it all apart.

I have too many loved songs to pick any one to represent my spirit... and if I could accurately pick just one that actually conceptualizes my "spirit" then I suspect my time on earth would be over and I'd drop dead.

I'd say that "Smart Patrol/Mr. DNA" by DEVO comes close... with B's "Ode to Joy" chorus played at the same time. I couldn't find any videos of this, though.

I did know it was from a movie soundtrack, but no I've never seen it. I would have never guessed it would be about heroin? I'll have to dig up that movie now. I hate movies. They take far too much time and rarely keep my attention.

Your response deserves an applause, in my humble opinion. I wish I could give you one

This is the one that exemplifies my spirit, the way it builds to a crescendo and then just explodes into this chaotic energy, coupled with the extremely potent lyrics which also describe my feelings as an individual... well, it just feels like my spirit in musical form.

Dear Sirs
If the pavement comes alive on Flatbush Ave with toothy smiles
Comprised of traffic cones and manholes become eyes
And birds burst into flames while singing Satan's praises
And fold into the sky and rain down ashy danger

If every office empties and all slaves walk in dazes
To a pool of liquid money where they bathe blissfully naked
And drugs no longer taunt me and flooze around my conscience
And every woman beating rapist is securely in their coffins

If every open hydrant in a Brooklyn time summer moment
Is opened up by cops and folds out into an ocean
And rent is paid by bread literally and parking isn't paid for
And food stamps can be planted and childhoods can't be damaged

If fire could power space ships that safely ship the creators
Of dynamite and gun powder to the graves of all who faced it
And the slurping nerf of bureaucrat life and bean counting slave owners
Is twisted in on itself til they shave off their own faces

If all the coke and crack in the nation is collected in a top hat
And force fed to the children of every CIA agent
And dust heads get an angel and an acres worth of rainbow
And the projects turn to clouds and the stupid aren't so proud

And the sniveling grimace mongrels of infected money slobbing pesticrats ignite
Into a brilliant beam of light
And mercy is the rule
And the exception's mercy too
And the desert comes in Brooklyn and the President goes to school

Time flows in reverse
Death becomes my birth
Me fighting in your war is still, by a large margin
The least likely thing that will ever ____ing happen...ever

"Porch"

What the # is this world
Running to?

You didn't leave a message
At least I could have
Learned your voice one last time.

Daily minefield
This could be my time
How 'bout you?
Would you hit me?
Would you hit me?

All the bills go by
And initiatives are taken up
By the middle
There ain't gonna be any middle any more

And the cross I'm bearing home
Ain't indicative of my place
Left the porch
Left the porch

Hear my name
Take a good look
This could be the day
Hold my hand
Walk beside me
I just need to say...

Hear my name
Take a good look
This could be the day
Hold my hand
Lie beside me
I just need to say
What can I take?
I just want to be
I know that i would not ever touch you
Hold you
Feel you
Ever hold
Never again

SPIRIT

Man gets tired
Spirit don't
Man surrenders
Spirit won't
Man crawls
Spirit flies
Spirit lives when man dies

Man seems
Spirit is
Man dreams
Spirit lives
Man is tethered,
Spirit free
What Spirit is, man can be
What Spirit is, the man can be

Ok... I posted a song the other day... It was not me, but it was strange and funny. (which can be me)

Here is a well known tune, and this version is really amazing... I think it represents me better.

The song is "STAND BY ME" recorded from 2005 thru 2009 with street artists around the world.
The producers "Playing For Change" traveled the world, recording various local artists and then cut this together.
Watch the video and look -see a bit of the world with glad eyes.

I don´t know if this song personifies my spirit, it might also depend on interpretation, but it sure touches my spirit,

"I will light the match this mornin'
So I won't be alone
Watch as she lies silent
For soon night will be gone

Oh, I will stand arms outstretched
Pretend I'm free to roam
Oh, I will make my way
Through one more day in hell

How much difference does it make?
How much difference does it make?

I will hold the candle
'Til it burns up my arm
Oh, I'll keep takin' punches
Until their will grows tired

Oh, I will stare the sun down
Until my eyes go blind
Hey, I won't change direction
And I won't change my mind

How much difference does it make?
Mmm, how much difference does it make?
How much...

I'll swallow poison
Until I grow immune
I will scream my lungs out
'Til it fills this room

How much difference?
How much difference?

How much difference does it make?
How much difference does it make?

Oooh, ooh
Oooh, oooh..."

Oh yeah, and this one off course, it always plays in the background when I walk down the street for some reason .

For me it is "Save Me" by Globus, the video doesn't really convey the message at all so I'll post the lyrics too

See me take my bows
And I'm heading for the exits
I can't stick around

This life's been hard
And I can't see the sense in fighting it anymore
Can't you let me go
Won't you show me the door

'Cause I've made mistakes
That have hurt the ones I've loved
And I've thrown them under the bus
One too many times

There can be no redemption for a sinner such as I
Won't you wish me to the cornfield now
Won't you help me stop living a lie

So here I am in the corner of a dark room
The same way I began
Alone with these mournful thoughts
And a loaded gun in my hand

But a foolish part of me
Still holds out for a shred of humanity
For a queen in a robe or a knight on a steed
Can't you see that I'm just a child on his knees

Save me from fear and pain
And love will rain on me
Save me today
Before tomorrow finds me at rest

Save me from fear and pain
And love come down and rain on me
Save me today
For tomorrow will find me at rest

Now I'm standing alone in the moment of truth
As the judgement's handed down
And my feet are scarred from the broken glass
Strewn across the ground

Then you come to my side
And only to you I confide
That I've been battered and shattered and bruised and abused
For the very very last time
Won't you help me, just

Save me from fear and pain
And love reign o'er me
Save me, Save me today
For tomorrow will find me at rest

Save me from fear and pain
And love will rain on me
Save me today
For tomorrow, find me at rest
Find me at rest

Cocorosie- Animals

Now that I'm alone I feel the lonely brokenness
Of all the wicked avenues I've ever sold my love on
All these moments of meekness and trembling subsided
I'm the outright abandon of this orphan child
Home is on the highway living on soft bread and solace
I guess I'm waiting for nightfall or a solar eclipse
And to wake up half empty
Only to be filled again with mourning
He's my evil shadow dove
My black Palamito
Can't break him like a diamond skull
I can't seem to do so
Can't just rob him out like the
Mob used to do so
Like memories of porno and tearstains
And tobacco O it's a mini disastro
Bigger than the ice age don't know if baby dinosaurs
Maybe could live through it, like Indians and butterflies
What's crushed is my spirit, Oh I fear it is too fragile
Like fall leaves burn like paper

I always knew I would spend a lot of time alone
No one would understand me
Maybe I should go and live amongst the animals
Spend all my time amongst the animals
And on the tracks I would go they lead to the sea
To be amongst the animals

Oh I'm just afall leaf something simple and shy lie that
That's how my heart lies down beside the sidewalk
Like an empty restaurant filled with perfume and balloons
I sit and entertain the bisarro ghosts of my soul
His name still lingers maybe lactates on my tongue
Perhaps I'm just teething for a foreign fallen destiny
Miserable but mine, I look like his mother
Or Sophia Loren in an old fashioned movie
Slow motion I cling to my child desperate for love
One day soon my brother died, made me remember all the
Subordinate feelings I cast aside
Maybe I had lied when I said I was ok
Just getting along like a little song that stops to sing and say
"Wild willow, windy winter won't you blow through me
My whole eternity

I would have to say that being a death metal fan there is not a lot of music out there that give positive message or a sense of empowerment like Arch Enemy.

Tear down the walls
Wake up the world
Ignorance is not... Bliss
So fed up with the Second best
Our time, Is here and now

I am the enemy
I am the antidote
Watch me closely
I Will Stand up... NOW!

We Will Rise
Above

Song gives me chills up my spine
