technically... any word with the appropriate (or inappropriate, hehe) intonation can change it's intended meaning... and to those of the human (and non-human, haha) race(s) insensitive to verbal social cues THIS can cause a bit rift in any sort of relationship.

I call my hubby 2 things:LIEFIE(Lovie)
That is used when i Want something,like a cup of tea,or just company.Or this.Or that.Or something done around the house,or from the shop,if he happens to be going into town

The other is OUMAN(Old man)
That is used when there's something wrong with my tea,or i Really need him to remember what he has to bring back from town.Or something needs fixing-and it won't wait.Or i had a crappy day+i want sympathy.Its a step up from Liefie in that i'm not in such a laidback mood when i say that.

The third one is along the lines of:"Ag Jissis tog!!!!!!" Your wife being SA will tell you what frame of mind that shows+may reveal whether i see him as a holy man at such a time
